Abstract

1. A method of manufacturing self-supporting slabs for laying as floor slabs and/or footpath slabs in house building and horticulture, comprising a slab of natural stone mounted on a mouldable, hardening material such as cement with an adhesive layer interposed therebetween, characterised in that stones are split into layers and are cut to size to form polygonal slabs (1), that an inherently hardening adhesive (2) is applied to one of the two unfinished surfaces of the slab of natural stone, that a layer (3) of cement determining the thickness of the slab is applied to the fresh, unhardened layer of adhesive (2), and that the cement and the adhesive are then age-hardened.
