in offenen Gefäfsen mit Dampf, wodurch der Schönit in feinster Vertheilung erhalten wird.
Die Ausführung dieser Operation erfolgt in der Weise, dafs wir ein offenes, mit einem
Siebboden (sogenanntem falschen Boden) versehenes Gefäfs mit Schönit füllen und von
unten unter dem Siebboden Dampf zuführen. Der Dampf durchdringt die Schicht von Schönit
und bewirkt ein Erwärmen desselben, verbunden mit Austritt von Wasser aus den
Schönitkrystallen. Dadurch zerfällt der nach* Patent No. 10701 gewonnene Schönit, wenngleich
beim Behandeln mit Dampf seine ursprüngliche Krystallform vollständig erhalten bleibt, bei der geringsten Berührung in ein
feines Krystallpulver.+ 2 S O 2 + C O 2 ,
