Claims

1. Toothbrush with a handle (2) and with a head part (3) which can be pivoted relative to the handle (2) between two end positions, namely a non-use or storage position and a use position and which is provided with a brush head (4; 4'), characterized in that a locking or slack connection acting between the handle (2) and the head part (3) is provided to secure the respective end position of the head part relative to the handle (2), the preferably audible locking or snapping occurring automatically as soon as the head part (3) has reached a position close to the respective end position.

2. Toothbrush according to claim 1, characterized in that the handle (2) has a substantially U-shaped cross-section and thus forms an interior space (7) delimited by two side walls (2b, 2c) and a base part (2a), in which the brush head (4; 4') is accommodated in the non-use or storage position, wherein the side walls (2b, 2c) converge in the direction of the base part (2a) in the area (2b", 2c") provided for receiving the brush head (4; 4').

Toothbrush according to claim 2, characterized in that the head part (3) with its end part (3c) facing away from a bristle-bearing part (3a) is pivotally mounted in a front region (2b', 2c') of the handle side walls (2b, 2c), and that on the end part (3c) on the one hand and on the front region (2b', 2c') of the handle side walls (2b, 2c) on the other hand, interacting locking cams (11) or locking grooves are arranged, which can be brought into engagement with one another both in the non-use or storage position and in the use position.

Toothbrush according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the side walls (2b, 2c) are connected in their rear region (2b", 2c") intended for receiving the brush head (4) by a handle wall (2d) which closes off the interior (7) from behind and which extends obliquely forwards towards the base part (2a).

5. Toothbrush according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the base part (2a) of the handle (2) has a front support surface (13), preferably made of a second, softer material, for supporting the head part (3) in its position of use.

Toothbrush according to one of claims 2 to 5, characterized in that in the non-use or storage position of the head part (3), the side walls (2b, 2c) of the handle (2) in their region (2b", 2c") converging towards the base part (2a) form the support surfaces for the bristle-bearing part (3a) of the head part (3) or for the brush head (4; 4').

Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 6, characterized in that the head part (3) is designed in an arc shape between the bristle-bearing part (3a) and the end part (3c) provided for articulation on the handle (2) and protrudes with this arc-shaped part (3b) from the U-shaped handle (2) in the non-use or storage position for gripping the head part (3) when it is pivoted into the use position.

8. Toothbrush according to claim 7, characterized in that the arcuate part (3b) is provided with grip knobs which consist of the same material as the arcuate part (3b) or are made of a softer material.

9. Toothbrush according to one of claims 2 to 8, characterized in that the side walls (2b, 2c) of the handle (2) preferably in the area (2b", 2c") provided for receiving the brush head (4; 4') have gripping surfaces (15) on their outside for gripping the handle (2) when pivoting the head part (3) into the position of use.

10. Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 9, characterized in that the head part (3) between the bristle-bearing part (3a) and the end part (3c) intended for articulation on the handle (2) is provided with several drip rings (15), preferably made of a second, softer material.

11. Toothbrush according to one of claims 2 to 10, characterized in that the handle base part (2a) has in its front region on the outer surface grip knobs (16) serving as finger rests, preferably made of a second, softer material.

12. Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 11, characterized in that the end part (3c) of the head part (3) intended for articulation on the handle (2) is provided with a thumb rest (18) preferably having a plurality of grip knobs (17), which preferably consists of a second, softer material.

13. Toothbrush according to one of claims 2 to 12, characterized in that the handle base part (2a) is provided with openings (19) in the area of the handle (2) intended for receiving the brush head (4) for the purpose of water drainage or ventilation.

14. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the handle (2) and the head part (3) consist of different materials, wherein the head part (3) is preferably made of a more elastic material than the handle (2).

15. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the handle (2) is made of an at least partially transparent or translucent material.

16. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the outer surfaces of the handle side walls (2b, 2c) are provided with an inscription which is printed or projecting or recessed.

17. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 16, characterized in that the head part (3) and the handle (2) are each manufactured in a single-component or multi-component injection molding process.

18. Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 17, characterized in that the head part (3) is manufactured in a multi-component injection molding process and has a neck (20) made of an elastically flexible material component between its bristle-bearing part (3a) and the end part (3c) provided for articulation on the handle (2).

19. Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 17, characterized in that the handle (2) is manufactured in a multi-component injection molding process and has a region made of an elastically flexible material component.

20. Toothbrush according to claim 18, characterized in that the neck (20) has several drip rings (15) preferably made of a second, softer, rubber-elastic material.

21. Toothbrush according to one of claims 3 to 20, characterized in that the base part (2a) is provided with preferably three support surfaces for placing the toothbrush on a shelf.

22. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 21, characterized in that the handle (2) is provided with a cavity for receiving a useful object such as a tube of toothpaste, a toothpick or a supply of dental floss.

23. Toothbrush according to claim 22, characterized in that the cavity is provided as a bore for receiving a toothpick in a wall of the handle (2).

24. Toothbrush according to one of claims 1 to 23, characterized by a brush head (4') whose bristle field consists of bristle tufts (6', 6") of different heights.
