The invention relates to a massage table according to the preamble of claim 1.

Massage tables are usually constructed in such a way that they have a flat, elongated surface for the upper body and legs and a head section that can have a central opening, the so-called nose slot. This nose slot allows patients to be massaged or treated while lying on their stomach without having to turn their head sideways.

In addition to stationary massage tables, there are also folding massage tables that can be folded up to the size of a suitcase and are mainly used for home visits.

The weak point of the known massage tables is the medically correct and comfortable positioning of the arms during the massage when the patients lie prone on the massage table.

The invention is based on the object of creating a massage table on which patients can position their arms in a medically sound and as relaxed a manner as possible, even when lying on their stomach.

The arm straps according to the invention allow a patient lying on their stomach to rest their arms in a relaxed manner in a very simple and effective way. It is practical to attach the arm straps directly to the underside of the headboard, for example by screwing or clamping them. However, it is also possible to attach the arm straps to the side front sides of the headboard.

To adjust the arm straps to different arm lengths
In order to be able to adjust the armrests, it is advisable if the armrest straps are made of two parts and can be attached to one another in a length-adjustable manner using a length-adjusting device. Such a length-adjusting device can consist of a Velcro fastener or a pressure clip, for example, with which the strap parts are fixed to one another in the correct length-adjustable position. Alternatively, however, it is also possible to make the armrest straps one part and attach them to the head section in a length-adjustable manner.

Advantageously, at least the support areas of the arm straps are provided with a padding material, in particular a fur or fur-like material. This allows the arms to be rested without pressure points.

The padding material advantageously consists of a tubular padding element that can be pulled over the arm straps and can be easily replaced. It is easily possible to provide this padding element with additional Velcro fasteners to ensure that it is securely attached to the arm straps. It is also easily possible to apply padding material to the inside of the arm straps, for example by attaching it using Velcro.

Figure 1 shows a collapsible massage table 1 which can be folded to the size of a suitcase and is typically used for home visits.

In the embodiment according to Figure 4, the two loop sections 11a, 11b can be attached to one another in a lengthwise adjustable manner by means of a Velcro fastener. In the embodiment according to Figure 5, a length adjustment device in the form of a pressure clip 013 is provided.

Figure 6 shows a tubular padding element 14 that can be pulled over the arm straps 11 in order to create the most comfortable support surface possible, at least in those areas where the arms touch the arm straps 11.
