Drinks cans of the usual design have a cylindrical shape and a small drinking opening (as is currently common practice). The taste-developing properties inherent in beer glass shapes do not come into play here. For example, the pilsner glass is long and thin so that it has to be tilted more steeply when drinking and the sip hits the back of the tongue, where the receptors for the bitter/tart taste are located. The tapering of the wheat beer glass, on the other hand, prevents the remaining yeast from flowing along with the last sip.

To consume beer in a comfortable and tasty way in cans, the consumer has only one option: to pour the drink into a glass. This is the only way to enjoy the culturally original form of drinking beer, in which the haptic shape of the glass allows for the foam to develop (head of foam) and the generous swallowing sensation (thanks to a large drinking opening).

In order to ensure a sensible technical production of the beverage can in the shape of a beer glass, it is essential to solve the production in such a way that the standardized can filling machines available at the fillers can fill this can.
To achieve this, certain technical characteristics and standards must be observed:

For transport in the filling plant, the cans must be in direct contact (on a "crunch") without being able to fall over. In addition, the empty can height and can outer diameter have limited maximum values. The recessed can lid cannot be used by the sealing machines at the filling location, as these only work with a standardized can lid.

The invention specified in claims 1-7 is based on the problem of enabling the beer drinker to enjoy the original comfort of drinking beer from a glass without restrictions from a can and of ensuring the technically sensible nature of this new can.

This problem is solved by the features set out in claims 1-7.

The invention ensures that the beverage container has the typical can advantages when closed (storability, stability, etc.). The shape of the can means that the beer retains its cultural identity and full flavor. When opened, the can has the drinking comfort of a beer glass because the can lid can be completely removed. The special technical properties of the closure prevent any injuries to the edges when drinking. In addition, the beverage can in its prefabricated state (with the lid inserted and recessed) allows for problem-free filling by the filling machines used in industry.

Advantageous technical embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 3-7.

The further developments according to claims 3-7 are explained using the embodiments in Figures 1-11 of the appendix “Drawings”.

Regarding claim 3, the following is shown in the appendix “Drawings” Figures 1-5:

Figure 1: Beer glass-shaped can (1) with sealing film (2). This is adhesively attached to the rounded top edge of the can (5) and seals it airtight. Above the sealing film (2) there is a protective lid (4) which protects the sealing film (2) from damage. (A well-known principle, e.g. with "chipsletten" rolls)

Regarding claim 4, the following is shown in the appendix “Drawings” Figure 6-10:

For hygiene reasons, there is a protective film (9) over the top edge of the can (5), which covers the drinking rim and the exposed inside of the can up to the recessed lid.

Figure 7+8: By pulling up the opening tab (7), the lid (6) is completely released along the predetermined breaking point (8) (known release principle; e.g. peanut or coffee can). In doing so, the lid (6) completely releases the protective film (9) attached to it.

Figure 9: The can (1) is now open and ready to drink. The depth (T) ensures that the consumer does not come into contact with the remaining web of the predetermined breaking point (8) when drinking.

Regarding claim 5, the following is shown in the appendix "Drawings" Figure "rf:

The beer glass-shaped can (1) with a recessed lid (6) inserted in a manner suitable for production technology, with a recess depth (T) of at least 5 millimeters to the top edge of the can (5) is turned upside down for filling and filled through the opening in the bottom of the can. The bottom of the can is closed using the closures commonly used for beverage cans (flanged lid (10)).

Regarding claim 6, the following is shown in the appendix “Drawings” Figure ti:

The beer glass-shaped can (1), the outline of which is designed in such a way that it has contact surfaces (K) with identically constructed cans. This ensures that the cans have secure contact with the next can during the conveying process on the belt in the filling system and therefore cannot fall over.

Claim 7 is shown in Appendix “Drawings” Figure H;

The beer glass-shaped can with the maximum can outer diameter (A) of 66.3 mm and the maximum empty can height (H) of 168.0 mm (like usual beverage cans).

Claims (7)

Protection claims (one-piece design) 1. Beverage can characterized in that this beverage can has the shapes of conventional beer glasses (e.g. wheat beer glass, pilsner glass and light glass shapes) with any surface design. 2. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the can lid can be completely removed. 3. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the can lid (2+3+4) ends at the rounded upper edge (5) of the can (1). It consists of a sealing film (2) with a tear-off tab (3) that is adhesively attached to the upper edge (5). A protective lid (4) is located on top of this. The entire can lid (2+3+4) can be completely removed. 4. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the can lid (6) is recessed under the upper edge (5) of the can (1). This lid (6) can be completely removed from the can (1) using a tab (7) and predetermined breaking points (8). When removing the lid (6), a protective film (9) connected to it is pulled off the edge of the lid. 5. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the can bottom is closed by a flanged lid (10). 6. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the beverage can (1) has, at points with a maximum can outer diameter (A), sections in its outline that are perpendicular to the base, thereby creating contact surfaces (K) with adjacent cans. 7. Beverage can according to claim 1, characterized in that the can outer diameter (A) is a maximum of 66.3 mm and the maximum empty can height (H) is 168.0 mm (like conventional beverage cans).
