DESCRIPTION Plain interlocking tiles

The invention relates to a plain tile interlocking tile with a head, side and foot interlock, the latter having an inner and outer foot rebate rib which, when covered, projects into a head rebate groove arranged between an outer and inner head rebate rib, while the outer foot rebate rib is positioned in front of the outer head rebate rib.

An interlocking tile of this type is known in practice under the designation "Z 22 c". Its head interlocking has three head interlock ribs and two head interlock grooves arranged between them, which are drained through outlets onto the slightly downwardly curved middle field of the tile.

The side interlock is on the right-hand side when looking at the brick from above. It ends at the base with a corner cutout, at the height of which the top of the brick has a step towards the base of the brick. This step is designed in such a way that the outer head interlock rib is overlaid when the brick is laid in rows. The well-known interlocking tile has a vertical side separation joint. It can only be laid in rows.

In principle, the beaver tail has the advantage of simple construction and cost-effective production.

The invention is based on the object of anchoring a plain tile of the type mentioned at the beginning more securely to one another while maintaining the simple body structure and the cost-effective production and at the same time improving the tightness of the covering.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the inner foot rebate rib extends significantly further downwards than the outer foot rebate rib. This

This design offers several advantages at the same time.

The plain tile basically retains its shape. By avoiding the height step in the foot area that is present in the previously known plain tile, the interlocking tile surface of the invention runs uninterrupted from the top interlock to the foot of the tile. This not only gives a calm appearance when covering, it also simplifies the pressing. The plain tile interlocking tile according to the invention is therefore similar to its classic model, which also has a smooth surface right down to the foot of the tile.

In contrast to this classic, however, the interlocking tile according to the invention is much better anchored to the covered tile in the base area of the covering tile and sealed against it. The inner base rib, which extends far down compared to the outer base rib, reaches deep into the head rib groove of the covered tile and thus not only creates mutual anchoring of the two overlapping tiles in a simple way, but also a much improved seal, especially in horizontal airflow. The blowing in of rain, snow, sleet, etc. is largely prevented even in adverse conditions. The outer base rib lies on the tile surface, while the inner base rib does not touch the base of the head rib groove.

In the invention, the top rebate groove drains into the side rebate groove via a lateral water opening that penetrates the inner side rebate rib. This is another advantage for the tightness of the brick. The water collected in the top rebate groove is not discharged back into the middle of the brick through the top rebate, but rather through the side rebate. The water opening is level with the bottom of the side rebate groove and thus ensures a secure seal.

If the inner foot rebate rib is designed to be as deep as the stacking ribs below the head rebate, this also provides the additional advantage of horizontal stacking when packing the finished plain tile interlocking tiles.

If the inventive plain tile is to be laid not only in rows but also in a bond, it is advisable to divide the inner foot rib into two rib humps, which are spaced apart from each other so that they can be laid in rows.

In order to make the plain brick more stable when it is being manufactured in the green state, but also more slip-resistant when it is fired, it is advantageous if the two foot-rebate humps of the inner foot-rebate rib each end at supporting ribs on the underside, which extend essentially from the head to the foot of the brick.

These support ribs integrate the foot rebate humps into a stability structure that is formed on one side by the side rebate and cover rebate parts and on the other by the side ribs. The foot rebate humps, like the suspension humps, form cross connections to these, which in turn fix the support rebate ribs laterally and thus form closed chambers on the underside of the brick. This applies in particular to the connecting pieces of the support ribs between the foot rebate humps and the outer foot rebate rib.

Figure 1 shows the top view of the plain tile interlocking tile 1 according to the invention. The head interlock 2 comprises an outer head interlock rib 213, which extends from the left side edge

of the brick up to a head-covering rebate corner cutout 295 with the same profile and height.

Adjacent to it is a head rebate groove 216, which extends from the side rebate part to the cover rebate area 3 and is connected via a small incline to a plateau adjacent to the head cover rebate corner cutout 295.

An inner head rebate groove 217 extends from the side rebate 5 flat and with an unchanged profile to the cover rebate part 3, where it is connected to a hook-shaped deflection 2173, which in turn ends at the right-hand, cover rebate-side tile edge.

The side fold 5 extends with a constant profile from the outer head fold rib 213 to a foot side fold corner cutout 486. It has an outer side fold rib 513, a side fold groove 514 and an inner side fold rib 515. The head fold groove 216 drains into the side fold groove 514 via a water opening 2161.

The inner side rebate rib 515 is lower than the adjacent tile center field 6 and forms a vertical side separation joint with it. A rib piece 5151 is mounted next to the inner side rebate rib 515 in the area of the head rebate groove 216, which creates the side rebate-side end of the head rebate groove 216 and ends at the same level as the center field 6.

Figure 2 shows the underside of the interlocking tile according to the invention. The cover interlock part 3 shows an outer cover interlock rib 325, which is slightly removed from the adjacent side edge. This is followed towards the middle of the tile by the cover interlock groove 326 and the inner cover interlock rib 327, which are continuous with one another from the top cover interlock corner section 295 to an outer foot interlock rib 423 with a constant profile.

In addition to the outer foot fold rib 423 already mentioned, the foot fold 4 has an inner foot fold rib 427, which in the embodiment shown is divided into two separate rib humps in view of the desired bandage covering. The humps are spaced apart from one another and designed in such a way that they enable both the row cover and the bandage covering.

Below the top rebate there are two suspension lugs 222 which are wide enough to fit between the inner top rebate rib 327 and a support rib 71, or between the support ribs 72 and 73 which are parallel to it. The underside of the middle field of the tile is divided by this rib arrangement into approximately three equally sized rib fields which extend from the suspension lugs 222 to the foot rebate. The ribs all lead to the two humps of the inner foot rebate rib 427 and are led beyond these ribs, possibly with a slight lateral offset, to the outer foot rebate rib 423.

There is therefore no foot rebate groove in the classic sense. The outer foot rebate rib 423 is guided with an unchanged profile from the top rebate side tile edge to the foot side rebate corner cutout 486.

Figure 4 shows the row covering of the plain tile interlocking tile according to the invention. The two foot rebate humps 427 of a covering interlocking tile are arranged together in the head rebate groove 216 of the covered interlocking tile.

Figure 5, on the other hand, shows the bonded covering, which is more favourable with regard to the water flow of the side interlocking because the side interlocking groove of the covering bricks drains into the middle field of the covered bricks, with the vertical side separation joint being located centrally on the middle field of an underlying covering brick.

In this covering, the covering interlocking tile overlaps with its foot interlock the cover interlock part of one tile as well as the side interlock part of the adjacent tile in such a way that its two inner foot interlock bumps 427 come to lie in the head interlock grooves 216 of the two adjacent covered tiles.

The invention offers the advantage that the plain tile is still constructed simply and gives a smooth surface appearance when covered. Nevertheless, the stability of the covering has been significantly increased. Before the bricks are fired, i.e. while they are still green, the same elements bring about a significant increase in dimensional stability.

Claims (9)

1. Plain tile interlocking with a head, side and foot interlock, the latter having an inner and outer foot rebate rib which, when covered, projects into a head rebate groove arranged between an outer and inner head rebate rib, while the outer foot rebate rib is positioned in front of the outer head rebate rib, characterized in that the inner foot rebate rib ( 427 ) projects further downwards by an amount x than the outer foot rebate rib ( 423 ) when covered. 2. Plain tile interlocking tile according to claim 1, characterized in that the inner foot rebate rib ( 427 ) is divided into two rib humps for the purpose of bonding, which are spaced apart from one another such that, in the case of row covering, they jointly engage in the head rebate groove ( 216 ) of the covered interlocking tile ( 1 ), whereas, in the case of bonding, they each engage separately from one another in the head rebate grooves ( 216 ) of two adjacent covered interlocking tiles ( 1 ). 3. Plain interlocking tile according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the two foot rebate humps of the inner foot rebate rib ( 427 ) each end at underside support ribs ( 71 , 72 , 73 ) which extend substantially from the head to the foot of the tile ( 1 ). 4. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rib humps of the inner foot rebate rib ( 427 ) together with the underside longitudinal ribs of the side rebate or cover rebate part and the support ribs ( 71 , 72 , 73 ) form stability cassettes which are closed on all sides and extend essentially over the entire length of the tile. 5. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that on the underside of the head rebate part ( 2 ) there are suspension humps ( 222 ) analogous to the rib humps, which extend as far down in level as the foot rebate humps. 6. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outer and inner head rebate ribs ( 213 , 217 ) are connected to one another in the region of the head cover rebate corner cutout ( 295 ) and a branch ( 2173 ) of the inner head rebate rib branches off from this connecting rib. 7. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the branch ( 2173 ) of the inner head rebate rib flanks the head cover rebate corner cutout ( 295 ) and bends at the outer cover rebate flank in the direction of the tile foot, so that it ends adjacent to the flank at approximately the height of the inner head rebate rib ( 217 ). 8. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the two rib humps of the inner foot rebate rib ( 427 ) are connected to the outer foot rebate rib ( 423 ) by ribs running in the longitudinal direction of the tile, which can be formed by sections of the inner cover rebate rib ( 327 ) and the support ribs ( 71 , 72 and 73 ). 9. Plain interlocking tile according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the head rebate groove ( 216 ) is connected to the side interlock via a water switch ( 2161 ) and the level of the head rebate groove is above the bottom of the side rebate groove ( 514 ).
