ZUSATZLINSEN FUR BRILLENADDITIONAL LENSES FOR GLASSES

Das US-Patent Nr. 5 568 207 von Chao umfaßt eine Hauptfassung mit zwei an den oberen Seitenabschnitten vorgesehenen Magnetelementen und eine Zusatzfassung, die ein Paar von Armen jeweils mit einem Magnetelement für einen Eingriff mit demjenigen der Hauptfassung aufweist. Wobei auf Fig. 1 bis 3 Bezug genommen wird, eine Brillenvorrichtung umfaßt eine Hauptfassung 10 zum Haltern von Hauptlinsen, die zwei Seiten jeweils mit einem Fortsatz 11 aufweist, der sich zur schwenkbaren Kupplung eines Bügels 12 nach hinten erstreckt und einen Mittelsteg 13 zum Haltern eines magnetischen oder magnetisierbaren Verbindungsstücks 14 aufweist. Eine Zusatzfassung 20 kann die Zusatzlinsen haltern und weist einen Mittelsteg 21 mit einem Vorsprung 22 auf, der sich nach hinten erstreckt, so daß er sich über den Steg 13 der Hauptfassung 10 erstreckt und mit diesem in Eingriff tritt {Fig. 2 - 4). Die Zusatzfassung 20 weist ein magnetisches oder magnetisierbares Verbindungsstück 24 auf, das für einen Eingriff mit dem Verbindungsstück 14 der Hauptfassung 10 im Vorsprung 22 angebracht ist derart, daß die Zusatzfassung 20 stabil an der Hauptfassung 10 gehaltert werden kann (Fig. 2 - 4).Referring to Figs. 1 to 3, an eyeglass device comprises a main frame 10 for holding main lenses, having two sides each with a projection 11 extending rearwardly for pivotally coupling a temple 12 and a central web 13 for holding a magnetic or magnetizable connector 14. Claims

1. Eyeglass device comprising a main frame ( 10 ) with a bridge ( 13 ) and an additional frame ( 20 ) with a bridge ( 21 ), the main frame further comprising a first connecting piece ( 14 ) attached to the main frame ( 10 ), characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame ( 20 ) extends over the connecting piece ( 14 ) of the main frame ( 10 ) and is magnetically engaged therewith when the main frame ( 10 ) and the additional frame ( 20 ) are attached to one another to enable the additional frame ( 20 ) to be attached to the main frame ( 10 ) by a user with only one hand.

2. Spectacle device according to claim 1, characterized in that the first connecting piece ( 14 ) is attached to the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame ( 10 ).

3. Spectacle device according to claim 2, characterized in that the first connecting piece ( 14 ) is attached to the upper side of the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame ( 10 ).

4. Spectacle device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame has a projection ( 22 ) to engage with the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame ( 10 ) and to extend over it.

5. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a second connecting piece ( 24 ) is attached to the additional frame ( 20 ) in order to engage with the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame ( 10 ).

6. The eyeglass device of claim 5, further comprising magnetic means ( 14 , 24 ) operatively associated with the first and second connectors ( 14 , 24 ) for magnetically connecting the first and second connectors ( 14 , 24 ) together.

7. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first connecting piece ( 14 ) is a magnet.

8. Spectacle device according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the second connecting piece ( 24 ) is a magnet.

9. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame ( 20 ) further has a part which extends downwards towards the first connecting piece ( 14 ).

10. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the webs ( 13 , 21 ) of the respective frames ( 20 , 20 ) are inclined.

11. Spectacle device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame ( 20 ) has a flange ( 220 ) which is inclined downwards in order to engage with the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame.

12. Spectacle device according to one of claims 5 to 11, characterized in that the second connecting piece ( 24 ) engages with a hole ( 131 ) of the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame.

13. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame has a C-shaped section with two magnetic means which can be brought into engagement above and below a magnetic means of the first connecting piece ( 14 ).

14. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame has one or more handles ( 28 ).

15. Spectacle device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bridge ( 21 ) of the additional frame has a stop ( 29 ) to engage with the bridge ( 13 ) of the main frame ( 10 ) and to prevent the bridge from disengaging.

16. A main frame supporting a first and a second main lens and comprising a first temple pivotally coupled to a first extension, a second temple pivotally coupled to a second extension and a centrally disposed bridge, adapted to be attached to an auxiliary frame to form an eyeglass device according to any one of claims 1 to 15.

17. An auxiliary frame supporting a first and a second auxiliary lens and comprising a centrally located bridge, capable of being attached to a main frame to form an eyeglass device according to any one of claims 1 to 15.
