Infrarotfreies und ultraviolettfreies, weißes Licht diffus abstrahlendeInfrared-free and ultraviolet-free, white light diffusely emitting
ArbeitsleuchteWork light
The innovation concerns an infrared-free and ultraviolet-free work lamp that diffusely emits white light with at least twenty light-emitting diodes arranged in one plane.
From the German publication no. 2.227.322, a casting material is known, namely a translucent plastic mass with embedded glass powder from which the light emitted by a gallium arsenide phosphide light-emitting diode is scattered particularly widely and distributed evenly so that it can be recognized very well from a large viewing angle.
In German Offenlegungsschrift No. 19,542,416, arrangements of light-emitting diodes are known for generating color pixels that are viewed from a great distance, for example across a baseball field. In order to achieve a sufficiently high intensity in this application, a large number of bundled light-emitting diodes are grouped in a tube or sleeve, which are attached to a circuit board, on the back of which the driver electronics are provided. If necessary, four red, seven green and nine blue diodes are grouped together in a single tube. By selecting the red, green and blue components with the aid of individual addressing means, individual colors can be generated as desired. As also mentioned, a scattering surface, for example a sandblasted surface, generates a significantly higher light intensity than a normal light-emitting diode module.
In the known arrangements explained above, the light emitted by a diffuser is intended for immediate perception by the human eye, which is in itself very flexible in its ability to adapt to low light intensities such as the moon's light intensity of less than 1 lux.
In the 'Textbook of Experimental Physics 1' by Bergmann-Schaefer, Volume III, 7th edition (1978), page 633, it is stated that an illuminance of 500 lux seems appropriate for normal work.
The innovation is based on the task of specifying an infrared-free and ultraviolet-free work lamp that emits white light diffusely in one main direction to illuminate a work surface with at least 500 lux.
According to the innovation, this task is solved by arranging at least twenty light-emitting diodes mounted in one plane closely adjacent to one another in the interior of a housing at a distance from an embossed disk that closes off the interior and diffuses the light.
An embodiment of a work lamp according to the innovation is shown in the drawing and is explained in detail below.
The only figure shows a work lamp that only emits white or colored light, but is free of infrared and ultraviolet radiation. Because it does not emit heat or generate heat, it is used to light certain work areas on sewing or shoe machines, especially when the operating personnel have to carry out manual work on textile strips for a long time in good lighting. In short, the operators are protected from disturbing heat and ultraviolet radiation.
The work light shown is powered from the usual mains with an alternating voltage of around 220 volts via a transformer (not shown). A voltage of 24 volts is supplied from the secondary winding of the transformer via wires laid in a support rod 4 to a manually operated switch 1 and a module 6, which is equipped with at least 20 light-emitting diodes. The required type and number of light-emitting diodes are selected depending on the desired spectral composition of the light, for example bluish-white, reddish-white or yellowish-white.
Die Scheibe 8 wird an ihrem kreisförmigen Rand im rohrförmigen Gehäuse 5 von einer ringförmigen Fassung 7 festgehalten, die zugleich die Austrittsöffnung für das von den lichtemittierenden Dioden erzeugte, infrarotfreie Licht bildet, das in erster Linie in RichtungWithout the support rod 4, the dimensions of the cylindrical work light are 75 x 70 mm and are primarily defined by a tubular housing 5, the interior of which is closed on one side by a cover 2 carrying the switch 1 and on the other side by a translucent disk 8 made of glass or a glass-like plastic that partially absorbs ultraviolet light. While the inward-facing surface of the disk 8 is flat, its outward-facing surface is shaped as if it were tightly covered by barely perceptible, lens-like projections (not shown). The disk 8 is held at its circular edge in the tubular housing 5 by an annular mount 7, which also forms the exit opening for the infrared-free light generated by the light-emitting diodes, which is primarily directed in the direction of

Depending on the number and type (= color) of the diodes used, the power consumption of the work lamp is between 1.5 and 2.6 watts. At a distance of 10 cm, an illuminance of around 1,000 lux was measured; at a distance of 1 m between the lamp and a work surface with a diameter of 60 cm, the illuminance of 500 lux required for normal work is thus achieved, with the beam angle being 30°. The observed service life of this work lamp is 35,000 hours, which corresponds to around four years. In view of this, in many cases the arrangement of the switch 1 inside the cover 2 appears superfluous, because the machine and the attached work lamp can be switched on or off at the same time.
Nun sei auf weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der Arbeitsleuchte gemäß der Neuerung bezuggenommen:Now let us look at further possible applications of the work light according to the innovation:
A refrigerated display cabinet is known from German patent specification No. 3,613,610, in which the goods to be refrigerated, such as food and drinks, are placed by the store staff by hand on shelves arranged at a distance from one another, and are then selected and removed by the customer by hand at a later time. These shelves with the goods to be placed on them therefore also represent work surfaces, which, as is known, are illuminated by spotlights. - Since any heat supply, including infrared radiation, into the refrigerated cabinet results in an energy loss, the work lights for handling the goods can be attached to a refrigerated display cabinet or similar refrigerated cabinet instead of spotlights, according to the innovation.
Similarly, any heat supply from infrared radiation to heat-sensitive objects, which can also include living creatures, should be avoided. Such objects are often housed in closed display cases for display purposes and are illuminated from the outside. The same applies to animals and plants that live in terrariums or aquariums and must be illuminated from the outside to make them visible.
In all of these cases, one or more suitably installed work lights can be used according to the innovation to prevent heating of the enclosed gaseous or liquid medium, usually air or water.
