Die Vorrichtung besteht in einfachster Ausführung aus einem porösem Wabenkörper (1) aus Keramik, Kunststoff oder Metall unterschiedlicher geometrischer Form, Zelldichte und Größe. Der Wabenkörper wird in ein Aufhahmeteil (2) mit senkrecht stehenden Kanälen gelegt, so daß die Raumluft frei von oben oder unten durchfließen kann und dabei die Duftstoffe aus dem vorbelegten Körper aufnimmt. Die ideale Wabenkörpergröße beträgt für 50 m3 Räume etwa 200 ml, einem Höhen-ZDurchmesserverhältnis von 1:4 und einer Wabendichte von 42 Kanälen/cm2.
