Abstract

The device comprises a long base plate (10) which is secured to the outside of the item (44) requiring support. A cap-shaped attachment (16) surrounds a coaxial hole in the base plate and is placed around the outside of it. A long cap (26) with internal screw threading, is inserted into the attachment and a threaded spindle is inserted into the long cap. The spindle has a support foot (36) at one end while the other end projects out over the base plate, and contains a cavity (32) at its opposite end to the foot which is turned with an alum key. Preferably a second cap-shaped attachment (20) is placed on the opposite side of the base plate to the cap attachment. A cap-shaped stopper lies further along the base plate from the cap attachment on the side facing the item requiring support. The base plate is flanged in the hole region to give it a keyhole contour. The spindle has a polygonal cross-section (34) near its foot. The spindle foot can be rotated.
