Description

The invention relates to a fitting for connecting two adjacent components of shower systems or all-glass walls, each of the components being assigned a screw connection, clamp connection or stop forming part of the fitting.

DE 39 01 395 A1 has disclosed a pivoting door for a shower partition, which is mounted on hinges that have hinge bands arranged approximately horizontally one above the other. In order to be able to hang or unhook the associated door without having to lift it significantly, one of the hinge bands must be opened or split parallel to the pivot axis and the door leaf plane, so that the bolt can be inserted into the opened or separated hinge from the side, or conversely the hinge can be placed against the bolt on the side and then closed. Because the hinge bands are arranged one above the other, it is necessary to provide a corresponding recess in the door - for example, designed as a glass pane - through which the door hinge, which is firmly anchored to the wall, can slide. Since such recesses, particularly in glass shower partitions or doors, require both a corresponding effort and a corresponding accuracy of fit with regard to the fastening of the hinges, efforts are generally made to dispense with such recesses.

The object of the invention is to propose a fitting for connecting two adjacent components of shower systems or all-glass walls, which can be easily connected to any wall elements or door elements, in particular those made of safety glass. The fitting should be designed in such a way that the interconnected components can be connected to one another in the sense of a self-supporting construction, i.e., if possible, without any disturbing frame. This applies in particular when using safety glass for doors or walls of showers or for connecting

the components of all-glass walls. The fitting according to the invention should be applicable both to screw connections, i.e. for connecting adjacent wall sections using the adjacent connections of the fitting and screws that pass through the adjacent walls, and to clamp connections, i.e. for clamping connections between, for example, a stabilization frame of a shower and the associated shower walls or for designing a stop to limit the swinging movement of a door. Furthermore, the fitting should be advantageously designed for use with hinges in which one fitting part, i.e. one connection of a door and the second fitting part, i.e. the second connection, is connected to a fixed wall or frame.

Regardless of the respective intended use described above, the external shape of the fitting should be retained as far as possible for manufacturing reasons, i.e. with regard to the technical effort required for production. However, it should be ensured that, particularly when using safety glass as a door or wall element, the fitting is sufficiently secured to the wall or door element, whether by screwing or clamping.

The invention solves the problem by the teaching of claim 1.

The design of the respective connection as a connection plate with the recesses arranged in the characterizing part of claim 1 ensures, on the one hand, that the holes in the glass door required for screwing the fitting to a glass door can be arranged sufficiently far from the free edge of the glass door so that sufficient pressing force can be exerted on the glass door to achieve a secure connection. On the other hand, the recesses lead to a significant saving in material, whereby, in particular, due to the essentially similar design of all recesses in the connection plates or stop plates, a cost-effective production is made possible by the use of the same tools. The recesses differ essentially only in their depth and width. This is necessary in order to be able to adapt the individual fittings to their intended use.

In principle, however, during production, the base edge of the recess can always be arranged so that the front edge of the connection plate runs parallel to the front edge of the connection plate and the front edges that laterally limit the recess are arranged orthogonally to the base edge and symmetrically to an axis of symmetry that intersects the fitting.

Further features of the invention are characterized by the subclaims.

To achieve the aforementioned advantages, it has proven sufficient if the length of the base edge is approximately 35% to 60% of the length of the front edge (claim 2).

If the fitting is designed as a hinge that has a central lobe and a double lobe, the fitting is designed according to claim 3 in such a way that both the central lobe and the double lobe have a recess to achieve the aforementioned advantages. The recess of the double lobe is arranged in such a way that the front edge of the double lobe facing away from the central lobe is continuous and a front edge section of the front edge of the double lobe facing the central lobe has a recess that is open to the hinge axis and whose base edge has the same length as the base edge of the recess of the central lobe. Here too, the same tools can be used to produce the recess of the central lobe and the double lobe.

Also in order to achieve efficient production, according to claim 5, it is proposed to assign a counter plate to a connecting plate that is congruent with the recess at least in terms of the width - i.e. the length of the base edge -, whereby according to claim 6 the front edge transitions in the area of the recesses are slightly rounded, preferably with a radius of 2.5 mm; this is good both for the front edge transitions of the connecting plates and for the front edge transitions of the counter plates.

The roundings in the area of the connecting plates are preferably provided on all front edge transitions with the exception of the area of the front edges of two connecting plates facing each other, which is particularly advantageous when the connecting plates are designed as hinges (claim 7). It goes without saying that in accordance with claim 8 the counter plates have front edge transitions designed to correspond to the connecting plates.

For fastening to the respective component, each connection plate has at least one bore according to claim 9, whereby (claim 10) the connection plate forming a central lobe has a bore lying in its axis of symmetry, while (claim 11) the connection plate forming a double lobe has two bores arranged approximately in the area of the associated belt rollers.

Circular holes are generally used to connect adjacent components made of glass; holes preferably designed as elongated holes are provided in the connecting plate to attach a fitting to a wall (claim 12).

For example, to attach a fixed glass wall to a brickwork, an embodiment is advantageously used according to claim 13, in which both connecting plates form a connecting angle, the angle legs of which have the same indentations on their opposite front edges running parallel to the apex line of the connecting angle. Here too, an optimal fastening option provides optimal material savings, whereby according to claim 15, an angle leg has a circular hole (for connection to a glass wall)

and one angle leg has an elongated hole (for connection to a masonry), or according to claim 13, for connecting glass walls standing at an angle to one another, both angle legs can have a circular hole.

If and to the extent that a stabilization frame is not to be dispensed with, the invention can also be used advantageously according to claim 16 if a connection designed as a clamp connection is designed as a pipe guide enclosing a stabilization frame, and the second connection is designed as a clamp connection with a clamping rail with a U-shaped cross-section, the U-legs of which have the same indentations on the front edges facing away from the pipe guide. With this embodiment, on the one hand, a reliable fastening of the pipe guide to the stabilization frame and on the other hand a reliable fastening via the U-legs of the clamping rail, for example to a fixed glass wall of a shower, is possible.

According to claim 17, with the same use of a stabilization frame and the same fastening to the stabilization frame, a corresponding stop that limits the pendulum movement of, for example, a glass shower door can be used instead of a clamping rail.

A special embodiment of the connecting plate as a door handle is given in claim 18. Tubular retaining plates can be screwed onto both sides of the threaded bolt that passes through a hole in a glass door, and each of these can be coupled to connecting plates that have an aligned pipe guide via a connecting bolt that passes through the connecting plate and the retaining plate, whereby the connecting plates in turn have identical recesses on their front edges facing away from the pipe guide.

This results in the same advantageous design for the design of the retaining plates as hinge tabs, as connecting angles, as clamp connections, as stop plates or as door handles, for manufacturing reasons.

The invention is explained in more detail below using eight schematically illustrated possible embodiments. In the individual embodiments, the same components have been given the same reference numerals where necessary. They show:

In the above-mentioned embodiments, the fitting was generally designated 1. In Figures 1 to 8, the fitting is designed as a hinge, which connects the components designated 2, for example glass walls, to one another. The connection itself can be made in a known manner using screw connections 27, which pass through holes 31 in the components 2. The hinge according to Figure 1 consists of a central tab 11 and a double tab 12, each of which forms a connecting plate 600 or 601. The connecting plate 600 forming the central tab 11 has a tape roller 16 through which the hinge axis 10 of the hinge pin passes, which corresponds approximately in height to each of the two tape rollers of the double tab 12. Furthermore, the connecting plate 600 has a front edge 8, which has a rectangular or square U-shaped recess 9 in its middle area, the base edge 20 of which runs parallel to the front edge 8 and the front edge of which laterally delimits the recess 9 and runs orthogonally to the base edge 20

Both the connection plate 600 and the connection plate 601 form a screw connection 3, for which holes 15 are provided in the aforementioned connection plates. The connection plate 601, designed as a two-lobe 12, has a front edge 81 which faces away from the middle lobe and is continuous, with a front edge section 13 of the front edge of the two-lobe facing the middle lobe having a recess 9 which is open to the hinge axis and whose base edge 20 has the same length as the base edge 20 of the recess 9 of the middle lobe 11.

The various connection plates of the individual embodiments were given the reference numbers 600 to 611.

From Figure 2 it can be seen that the counter plates 14 assigned to the connection plates 600 and 601 are adapted to the connection plates 600 and 601 in terms of their configuration.

In the embodiment according to Figure 4, the bore 15 is designed as an elongated hole 17 for the purpose of fastening the connection plate 601 to a masonry.

The embodiment according to Figures 5 and 6 differs from the embodiment according to Figures 1 to 4 essentially in that the depth of the recesses 9 is somewhat smaller and the tape roll 16 of the connection plate 602 is correspondingly larger.

In the embodiment according to Figures 7 and 8, the design of the belt rollers 16 again corresponds essentially to the embodiment according to Figure 1; however, the depth of the recess 9 in the connection plate 605 has been chosen to be significantly larger in order to ensure the largest possible contact area with the component 2 not shown in Figures 7 and 8.

However, the embodiments according to Figures 1 to 8 have in common that the front edge transitions of the front edges 8, 81, 82 or the front edge section 13 or the base edge 20 are slightly rounded, while this is not the case with the transitions of the front edge sections 83, 84, i.e. the front edges of adjacent hinge tabs facing each other.

In the embodiment according to Figures 9 to 13, the connection plates 606, 607 are combined to form a connection angle 18. Here too, the connection is designed as a screw connection 3, with the components 2 being connected to one another by means of counter plates 14. Figure 10 shows the longer angle leg 19; Figure 11 shows the shorter angle leg 19. It can again be seen that both angle legs 19 have the same U-shaped recesses 9, with the length of the base edge 20 being approximately 60% of the length of the front edge 8. The counter plate 14 according to Figure 13 again has a configuration adapted to the angle leg 19.

While Figure 11 shows the angle leg with a hole 15 suitable for connection to a glass wall, Figure 12 shows the same angle leg (connection plate 606) with a long hole 17 suitable for attachment to a masonry wall.

In Figures 14 to 19, the fitting 1 is designed as a clamp connection 4, where the clamp connection 4 is designed as a pipe guide 23 that encompasses the stabilization frame 22 that forms the component 2. The actual clamp connection is designated 30 and can consist of an Allen screw.

In the embodiment example according to Figures 14 and 15, a clamping rail 24 with a U-shaped cross section is used, the U-legs 25 of which have identical recesses 9 on the front edges 8 facing away from the pipe guide 23. The component 2 can be fixed between the U-legs 25 using a corresponding Allen screw 39.

In the embodiment according to Figures 16 and 17, a two-part stop 5 - for example a door stop - is used, i.e. one connection is designed as a clamp connection 4, while the second connection is designed as a connection plate 609, which has a stop plate 7, which is formed in a way by an angle leg 26. Here too, the connection plate 609 has a corresponding U-shaped recess 9.

In the embodiment according to Figures 18 and 19, the clamp connection 4 is formed in one piece and also has an angle leg 26 designed as a stop plate 7, whereby the actual clamp connection 30 is made directly with the stabilization frame 22 by means of a screw (not shown).

The eighth embodiment according to Figures 20 to 22 shows the connecting plates 611 designed as a door handle 37, whereby both connecting plates 611 are designed identically. A threaded bolt 34 provided with an external thread passes through the hole 32 of a glass door 33. Tubular holding plates 35 provided with a hole 31 can be screwed onto the free pin ends of the threaded bolt 34. The connecting plates 611 provided with an aligned pipe guide 36 can be plugged onto the holding plates 35, so that the connecting plates 611 can be coupled to the holding plates 35 via the connecting plates 611 and connecting bolts 38 passing through the holding plates 35. Here too, it can be seen that the connecting plates 611 have identical recesses 9 on their front edges 8 facing away from the pipe guide 36.

Claims (18)

Expectations 1. Fitting for connecting two adjacent components of shower systems or all-glass walls, each of the components being assigned a screw connection, clamp connection or stop forming part of the fitting, characterized in that at least one connection (3, 4) or stop (5) of a fitting (1) is designed as a connection plate (600, 602, 604, 606, 607, 608, 609, 610, 611), the front edge (8) of which facing away from the second connection (connection plates 601, 603, 605, 606, 607, clamp connection (4) has a rectangular or square U-shaped recess (9) in its middle region, the base edge (20) of which runs parallel to the front edge (8) and the side bordering the recess (9), orthogonal to the base edge (20) front edges (29) are arranged symmetrically to an axis of symmetry (28) intersecting the fitting (1). 2. Fitting according to claim 1, characterized in that the length of the base edge (20) is approximately 35% to 60% of the length of the front edge (8). 3. Fitting according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the front edge transitions in the area of the recesses (9) are slightly rounded, preferably with a radius of 2.5 mm. 7. Fitting according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the connecting plates (600, 601, 602, 603, 604, 605) have rounded end edge transitions on the end edges (81, 82) delimiting them, with the exception of the end edges (83, 84) directed towards one another. 8.
