Sales packaging for food ingredients

The invention relates to a sales package in the form of a closed thin-walled container with a circumferential sealing edge for a hermetically sealing lid for viscous or pasty food ingredients, in particular glaze for baked goods.

Glazing substances for baked goods are often offered in container-shaped packaging. The containers offer the advantage of being easy to process. The glaze mass, which cannot be processed at room temperature but must be heated, for example in a hot water bath, can be brought to a temperature sufficient for processing in the container. The heated mass is applied to decorate the baked goods using a spreading tool, such as a brush. However, the usual tools are less suitable for applying finer lines of glaze to create ornaments, labels and similar decorations. The use of a piping bag, usually used for applying creamy substances, is also impractical.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a suitable tool with which the application of baked goods icing in the form of thin stripes or lines for decorative purposes is made significantly easier. The invention as a solution to this object is characterized in that the packaging container is provided with a spray opening in the area of the lid for squeezing out the container contents. The opening is preferably channel-shaped with an outward-directed cross-sectional taper.

The container is expediently provided with a spout-shaped pouring attachment in the area of its edge, within which the spray opening is arranged. The upper part of the channel is open and is closed by the container lid. The pouring attachment is thus formed by a radially directed narrow projection of the container wall. In this area, the sealing edges of the container and container lid are also designed to point outwards in the form of tabs. Preferably, the lid seal on the pouring attachment is guided with a narrow strip around the spray opening to form a pull-on tab. This ensures that the lid tab can be bent over at the radially outermost area, grasped and the lid can be pulled off if the spray opening is not used.

To use the spray opening as intended, the flap consisting of the lid and sealing edge of the container is cut off so that the cut leads through the spray opening. The heated glaze in the container can now be squeezed out by applying pressure to the wall and lid surface of the container. The strength of the exit stream can be varied slightly depending on the position of the cut, since the channel-shaped spray opening shows a continuous change in cross-section in the longitudinal direction.

An additional tool for applying thin lines, for example to create ornaments or lettering, is no longer necessary.

The container 1 in the form of a small Bundt cake mold is provided with a wide, all-round sealing edge 2. It is closed by a lid 3 with an all-round sealing edge 4, which is congruent with the sealing edge 2 of the container, and is hermetically sealed by sealing. The sealing surface is marked with 5.

The container is equipped with a spout-shaped pouring attachment 6 in which the spray opening 7 is located. The pouring attachment with the spray opening is formed by a narrow bulge in the container wall. In this area, the sealing edge 2 widens to form a protruding tab 8 or tongue, which is covered by a congruent tab 9 of the sealing edge 4 of the lid, so that the spray opening 7 is closed at the top. The spray opening 7 can be opened by cutting along the line A-A. The container contents can be emptied through the spray opening by applying pressure to the outer surfaces of the film-like, thin container material. The concentrated jet of glaze makes it easier to create linear ornaments, characters or figurative representations.
