Insert frame

The innovation relates to an insert frame for bed frames to support a mattress placed on top by means of inserted spring slats as cross members, which are held by bars on both sides of the insert frame and in which the bars of the insert frame are divided to form partial elements, whereby the free bar ends of the formed partial elements can be coupled via connections.

A large number of insert frames are known, which are designed either as simple continuous frames or as frames with corresponding adjustable head and/or foot sections. The problem with all of these frames is that the frames are not suitable for individual transport by private individuals in cars.

or are not suitable for storage and logistics as they are bulky items. This means that marketing via take-away markets and DIY stores is only possible to a limited extent.

It is already known to form frames from parts that can be joined together and to secure them using connections. These known arrangements require a relatively complex fitting and it has been shown that fastening problems arise if there are dimensional deviations, particularly due to the drying out of the wood material.

The aim of the innovation is to create an improvement in the generic frame designs that enables both transportability and logistical handling and ensures proper assembly with a simple fitting with the required stability even by laypeople.

The solution to this problem is achieved in accordance with the innovation in that the connections are formed by lockable angle elements that overlap adjacent ends of the spars and one leg of the angle element can be locked on the inside of the spar and the other leg rests on the top or bottom of the spar.

This makes it possible to provide transportable frame elements and to form a simple fitting part without being affected by dimensional changes that occur across the beam and to ensure a stabilized, continuous beam formation.

A simple design is created by connecting the angle elements on one side of the partial element with

is firmly connected to the column end and the adjacent column end has at least one hole for receiving a fastening means that can be inserted through the angle element.

To improve the connections, the leg of the angle element for installation on the top or bottom of the spar has a further bend that engages in a corresponding slot in the spar.

A favorable design is created by the fact that the leg of the angle element assigned to the inside of the spar has at least one receiving slot corresponding to the spring strips.

The drawing shows schematic examples of the innovation. It shows:

The illustrated insert frame 1 consists of beams 2 arranged on both sides, which are joined together to form a frame by end stops 3 and are connected by transverse

running spring slats 4 serve as support for a mattress placed on top.

In this case, the beams 2 are divided three times and connected by angle elements 5, so that four frame parts 6, 7, 8 and 9 are formed. In particular, however, it is intended to divide them twice, so that three sub-elements are preferably of the same length. It is also conceivable to divide them into just two frame parts.

The bars 2 are each separated between the spring strips 4. The adjacent bar ends are connected by the angle elements 5. One leg 10 rests on the inside of the bar 2, while the other leg 11 rests on the top of the bar 2.

It is expedient that the angle element 5 is already placed on one end of the beam of the partial element 6,7,8,9 and is firmly connected via a connecting means 13 in the form of a screw through a hole 14. After the partial element 6,7,8,9 to be connected has been assigned, the overlapping end of the angle element 5 is also fixed via a hole 15 using a screw 18.

In a further embodiment according to Fig. 3, a one-sided receiving slot 16 for a spring strip 4 is arranged in the angle element 5.

Furthermore, according to Fig. 4, it is provided that the leg 11 of the angle element 5 has a further bend 17 for the assignment of the top side of the beam. The bend 17 engages in an assigned slot of the beam 2 to improve the connection.

As an alternative to the angle elements 5, other connecting profiles can also be used. For example, the use of movable U-profiles is considered. These can be screwed in the locking position or secured in another way.
