Die bereits auf dem Markt befindlichen Handschuhe, die eine ausreichende Temperaturbeständigkeit und einen Schnitt- und Stichschutz bieten, sind jedoch für den Polizeieinsatz zu steif und voluminös. Diese Handschuhe weisen in der Regel einen Innenhandschuh aus einem relativ dicken Filz oder Vlies als Schnitt- und Stichschutz auf, der die Beweglichkeit der Hand beeinträchtigt. Dabei besteht der Außenhandschuh aus einer einzigen Gewebelage, ist also relativ dünn und schmiegt sich gut an die Hand an, ohne dabei die Bewegungen der Hand zu behindern. Das doppelseitige Gewebe, das zur Herstellung des Außenhandschuhs verwendet wird, besteht auf der Außenseite aus Metaaramidfasern, also beispielsweise aus Nomex-Fasern, die eine hohe Temperaturbeständigkeit aufweisen.
