Description
The invention relates to an irradiation lamp with a polarizer for stimulating biological processes during cell activities.
It is known to use lasers to stimulate biological processes. However, the use of energy associated with this poses the problem that cell damage can occur. To prevent this, DE 32 20 218 C3 has already proposed a lamp that emits incoherent light above 300 nm and has an optical system in the beam path of the light emitted by the lamp, whereby linearly polarized light is generated in the direction of treatment by means of a polarizer, which has a continuous or quasi-continuous spectral distribution when it emerges. The disadvantage of this lamp is that it requires a relatively complicated structure of the optical device and generates undesirable heat during operation.
The object of the invention is to design an irradiation lamp of the type mentioned above in such a way that the generation of undesirable heat or harmful UV radiation is prevented with a simple structural design.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
The invention is explained in more detail below using the example of the irradiation lamp shown schematically in the drawings.
-2--2-
Die Lichtleistung der Leuchtdioden 8 beträgt im Fokus 9 vorzugsweise 1 bis 100 mW/cm2.The irradiation lamp 1 has a lamp housing 2 with a molded-on handle 3. A battery compartment 4 is formed in the lamp housing 2, in which a rechargeable battery with a charging device is provided. The charging device is connected to a connecting cable 5 that leads out of the handle 3. A polarizer 7 is arranged in front of the light exit opening 6 of the irradiation lamp 1, to which concentrically arranged light-emitting diodes 8 in the lamp housing 2 are assigned. Commercially available light-emitting diodes can be used as light-emitting diodes 8, which could have a wavelength of 350 nm, 460 nm, 670 nm or 890 nm with a bandwidth of 10 nm. The light rays of the light-emitting diodes 8 can be linearly polarized in the polarizer 7. The light output of the light-emitting diodes 8 in the focus 9 is preferably 1 to 100 mW/cm 2 .
The irradiation lamp 1 is characterized by a simple structure and enables a more compact and mobile design as well as variable operation with battery or mains-connected power supply. By using the LEDs 8, no unwanted heat or harmful UV radiation is generated, so that no filters are required to eliminate them. The irradiation lamp 1 is suitable for use in medicine, e.g. for herpes simplex and other wound treatments or external applications. It is also possible to replace the LEDs 8 as needed for natural medical applications.
