DESCRIPTION

The innovation concerns a foil bag for packaging food, in particular confectionery.

Bags made of foil material are generally used to package food, especially sweets (e.g. gummy bears, liquorice, wine gums, etc.) and are closed at the top and bottom by welding or pressing. Conventional foil bags of this type are generally printed with colorful advertising motifs and product information. The foil material required for this, which is easy to print on, is generally difficult to dispose of and is therefore classified as environmentally unfriendly.

The innovation is now based on the task of offering environmentally friendly packaging of sweets in foil material.

The problem is solved by the characterizing part of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are realized by subclaims 2 to 20.

The innovative solution is characterized by the fact that an additional element that partially surrounds the foil bag is attached to a foil bag, which is used as a packaging for sweets as before, as an information carrier. The foil bag used is not printed and can be made of environmentally friendly and easily disposable single-colored foil material or of transparent foil.

The advertising motifs and product information that were previously printed directly onto the foil bag using the latest technology are now located on the additional element that serves as an information carrier, which is attached to the foil bag and which, in contrast to the foil bag, is printed.

When the additional element is designed as a cardboard cut-out, the innovative food or candy packaging consists of a single-colored and unprinted foil bag and a printed cardboard cut-out attached to it as an information carrier. In contrast to the state of the art, the innovative packaging is therefore constructed in two parts from two environmentally friendly and easily disposable materials (generally unprinted foil and cardboard material).

The shape of the cardboard cut-out attached to the foil bag can initially be freely selected and can be geometrically simple (e.g. triangular or square) or as a pattern (e.g. star shape, animal shape, etc.).

In a certain advantageous embodiment, the cardboard blank completely surrounds the foil bag in a loop-like manner. The two ends of the cardboard blank then rest on both sides on the upper end area of the foil bag and are connected to it (e.g. by welding, pressing, clamping or in another detachable manner).

Advantageously, such a cardboard cut-out that completely surrounds the film bag in a loop-like manner has two T-shaped areas, each consisting of a T-longitudinal leg and a T-transverse leg. The two T-longitudinal legs merge into one another, while the two T-transverse legs are connected to the film bag, for example in the upper end area of the film bag, and possibly using additional overlapping tabs.

The width of the T-shaped longitudinal legs extending over the length of the foil bag is advantageously dimensioned such that the side areas of the enclosed and wrapped foil bag remain uncovered and thus the view of the goods contained in the bag is at least partially possible.

To set up a cardboard blank consisting of two T-shaped areas, it is recommended not to allow the two T-shaped longitudinal legs to merge directly into one another, but to provide a base for setting up the foil bag in accordance with the new regulations.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the cardboard blank only partially encloses the foil bag in a loop-like manner, namely through a surrounding flap or a pocket area. This means that, for example, the entire back of the foil bag could remain uncovered, thus allowing a clear view of the packaged goods. In this type of embodiment of the cardboard blank, generally only one upper end of the cardboard blank is detachably connected to the upper end area of the foil bag in one of the ways described.

Overall, the new packaging, which consists of a film bag and an additional element attached to it (e.g. cardboard cut-out), is not only environmentally friendly, but also particularly rigid. The packaged goods are protected from undesirable deformation by a surrounding cardboard cut-out, for example.

In addition, the cardboard cut-out used can, for example, be designed in different ways and offer the buyer of the packaged goods additional usage options.

The cardboard cut-out can be given a game character, for example, by using it as a cutting sheet or game template (for example with additional game backgrounds printed on it).

In this context, it would also be worth considering filling the foil bag not only with foodstuffs, but also, for example, (separately packaged) game pieces.

The attractiveness of the new cardboard cut-out can be further increased by expressible areas or penetrations, by attaching movable or foldable elements (comparable to a Christmas calendar) or by attaching appliqués (pearls or decorative elements). Folding models can be created by making the cardboard cut-out foldable. The cardboard cut-out can be made conventionally flat, but can also have embossing and corrugations and be (partially) coated.

These described different embodiments of the additional element according to the innovation and in particular the cardboard cut-out cannot be implemented with conventional packaging of the goods in foil bags.

In order to set up the packaging according to the new regulations (for example on a support rod at the point of sale), the packaging according to the new regulations has at least one carrying hole (e.g. a so-called "Euro hole"). By arranging this at least one carrying hole in the upper end area of the film bag (i.e. in the area in which the film bag is connected to one or two ends of the cardboard blank), the cardboard blank, which is also pierced by the carrying hole, stiffens the carrying hole and increases the tear resistance.

Fig. 1 first shows the packaging according to the innovation, consisting of the film bag 1 and the cardboard blank 2 with a carrying hole 11. In connection with Fig. 2, T-shaped areas 4 and 4' extending on the front and back of the film bag 1 can be seen, which completely enclose the film bag 1 in a loop-like manner, converge in the upper end area 3 of the film bag 1 and are (detachably) connected to the film bag 1.

From Fig. 2 it can be seen again that the T-shaped areas 4 and 4' in the front view each consist of an upper T-cross leg 6 and a T-longitudinal leg 5 running in the longitudinal direction of the film bag 1. The side areas 7 of the film bag 1 are left uncovered by the reduced width of the T-longitudinal legs 5 and allow a view of the products packaged in the film bag 1.

Fig. 3 shows an advantageous modification of the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 and 2 and has a base 9 for placing the foil bag 1. The

The support surface 9 is arranged between the T-shaped areas 4 and 4' near the lower end area 8 of the film bag 1.

The further embodiment of the packaging according to the innovation shown in Fig. 4 and 5 shows a cardboard blank 2 which partially encloses the film bag 1 with a flap 10. This ensures that the side areas 7 of the film bag 1 as well as the almost completely uncovered back 12 (see Fig. 5) can be seen. According to Fig. 5, the flap 10 completely encompasses parts of the back 12 of the film bag 1 and, due to its almost oval cross-section, can also serve as a base 9 for setting up the packaging (for example on a shelf).
