The treatment of cotton and other seeds or grains with sulfuric acid it is not new, but the nature of the procedure shows peculiarities.

Inventors use the acid in a very dilute form, and at the expense of the process to draw down still more, they use only a comparatively small quantity of this dilute acid, usually about as much as the whole quantity of seeds is sufficient to make moist when it is intimately mixed with the liquid.
