Abstract

The portable multiple socket outlet is for use on tables or floors, or for temporary mounting on a wall. It comprises a base with a former on which the flexible supply lead can be coiled when not in used. Onto the base fits a carrier which supports the socket outlet terminals and a sensitive miniature circuit breaker responsive to overload and fault currents. The incoming lead is connected to the circuit breaker. The base and assembled carrier are enclosed by an overall cover with receptacles for the plug connectors, and an access cover for the circuit breaker switch toggles. The overall cover is fitted in such a manner that special tools are required to remove it. This helps in making the unit tamper-proof.
