Zum Zwecke einer besonders starken und innigen Umpressung des Heizkörpers mit dem nach außen die Hitzeabgabe vermittelnden Metallmantel nimmt man für die innere oder obere Schale ein Metall, das einen etwas stärkeren Ausdehnungskoeffizienten besitzt als für die andere Schale; auch wird die Blechdicke der oberen oder inneren Schale zweckmäßig etwas stärker gewählt als diejenige der anderen Schale. Ferner kann die innere Schale noch mit Versteifungsrippen versehen werden, um den Preßdruck zu erhöhen und eine Beulenbildung nach innen auszuschließen. Für die Stromzuleitung ist das Rohr oder der Rohrstutzen je nach dem Ver-Wendungszweck an der einen oder anderen Schale angebracht. Soll der Tauchheizkörper, außer zum Erwärmen und Kochen von Flüssigkeiten, auch für feste Speisen Verwendung finden, so wird er mit einem leicht abnehmbaren durchbrochenen Gehäuse umgeben, welches wohl Flüssigkeiten und dünne Stoffe durchläßt, nicht aber dickere Stoffe, wodurch ein Anbrennen derselben vermieden wird.
