Der Doppelresonanzboden ist auf beiliegender Zeichnung, an einem Pianino angebracht, dargestellt. A sind die Saitenstege, welche auf den kleinen Resonanzboden B aufgeleimt sind. Letzterer ist mittelst einer ringsum laufenden Holzzarge C auf den unteren gröfseren Resonanzboden D aufgeleimt, und zwar ist, wie die Zeichnung ergiebt, die Zarge um eine gewisse Strecke vom Rande des grofsen Bodens entfernt, so dafs beim Spiel der untere grofse Boden D kräftig mit in Schwingung kommt, wodurch ein grofser, voller und lang aushaltender Ton erzeugt werden soll. Ein Pianoforte mit einem derartigen Doppelresonanzboden soll beim stärksten Spiel noch einen angenehmen Ton haben. Der untere grofse Resonanzboden D ist mit dem Kasten E verbunden. Die mit Buchstaben F bezeichneten Stellen sind die Schalllöcher des kleinen Bodens.
