Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Verbindung der aneinanderstoßenden Kanten von schweren Gewebestoffen, wie. z. B. von Teppichen, Decken u. dgl., wobei die zu vereinigenden aneinanderstoßenden Kanten durch eine Blindstichnaht miteinander verbunden werden. Der Zweck der Erfindung besteht darin, die zwei aneinanderstoßenden Stoffkanten der schweren Gewebestoffe so miteinander zu vereinigen, daß die Stoffe nach der Vereinigung der Kanten vollständig flach liegen und die Regelmäßigkeit der Gewebeflächen durch das Zusammennähen nicht beeinträchtigt wird. Dies wird gemäß der neuen Erfindung dadurch bewirkt, daß die zu vereinigenden Stoffe an der Stoßstelle gewölbeartig gebogen werden, und zwar derart, daß die zusammenstoßenden Kanten den Scheitel des Gewölbes und die Rück-Seiten der Stoffe die konvexe Fläche des Gewölbes bilden.
