The present invention relates to a further embodiment of that protected by patent 240895 Throat plate for sewing machines used for embroidery.

In the throat plate according to the main patent, the tooth head g of the material slide must be lowered under the throat plate c so that the stitch hole of the latter can be turned into the area of the needle and can remain there without being obstructed by the tooth head g. However, this requires a special mechanism for raising and lowering the tooth tip g, and such a device endangers the operational safety of the material pusher device in many cases.

On the embroidery stitch hole side of the needle plate c c there is a bulge 0 which is intended to cover the tooth head g during embroidery or darning. The throat plate cc is secured against movements in the tangential direction by a pin dd which engages in the holes ss or ss ^{1 of} the throat plate c c when the throat plate is in the sewing or embroidery position.

If the sewing machine is to be set up for embroidery or darning, the throat plate cc, as shown in FIG. 2, is raised and rotated around the pin b on the pin dd which serves as a support until the latter snaps into the locking hole ss. As a result of the piston m under the action of a spring, the throat plate cc is depressed and has now received the position according to FIG. 1 necessary for carrying out embroidery or darning work.
