Abstract

A textile product, esp. for sportswear, consists of a double-surfaced, mixed knitted fabric of two different yarns, e.g. continuous filament polyester and cotton. The surface of one side is formed exclusively by stitches or loops of the first yarn, whilst the other side is formed exclusively by stitches or loops of the second yarn. The fabric accordingly has stitch openings or pores right through giving a good permeability to air. The physical characteristics ensure satisfaction of the requirements of sporting garments worn close to the skin. They allow ample but restricted vaporisation of moisture without excessive chilling action. The garment retains its form well and has a surface readily tolerated by the skin.
