Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Spitzen von Bleistiften o. dgl., bei welcher das Schneidwerkzeug in bekannter Weise bei seiner Bewegung selbsttätig sowohl die Verdrehung des Bleistiftes zwecks Abnahme frischer Späne als auch den Vorschub des Bleistiftes bewirkt. Dabei ist das Messer auf seinem Bewegungsorgan nachgiebig ge-■ lagert, so daß es in seitlicher Richtung ausweichen kann für den Fall, daß das Bleistiftende bei seinem Einführen unbeabsichtigterweise gegen eine der Schneiden gepreßt wird. Gemäß der Erfindung erhält das Schneidwerkzeug seine Bewegung durch einen oszillierenden Schubkurbeltrieb, und die dasselbe abstützende Feder ist geschützt so angeordnet, daß der Zutritt von Schmutz und Bleistiftspänen zu derselben vollkommen ausgeschlossen ist.
