Niederspannungsdekorationsleuchte mit weißen SMD-LEDsDescription
Low voltage decorative light with white SMD LEDs
Decorative lights with multiple light sources are state of the art.
They are available with incandescent lamps, glow lamps, miniature fluorescent lamps and light emitting diodes (LEDs) as light sources. The light sources can be connected in series or parallel. They can appear as a light snake or light net. There are light snakes in transparent plastic tubes, light sources are used with and without sockets, contacts are made using solder, crimp and screw connections. There are single-coloured and multi-coloured light source combinations, which can be controlled simultaneously or at different times, with mains or low voltage. Most of these possibilities can be observed closely, for example at Christmas time. It is striking that apart from the coloured red, yellow, green and blue light sources, a clearer, brighter white does not occur.
This problem can be solved with the feature set out in claim 3.
The conventional round designs with diameters of 3 to 10 mm are currently widely used, for example, in bicycle lights, flashlights, as signal lights in message boards, etc. SMD LEDs in TOP or SIDE versions, which emit white light, are used, for example, as background lighting in displays. They are characterized by high luminosity and low energy consumption. When used in a decorative light of the type described in the protection claims, it is possible, for example, to decorate trees or bushes with a large number of very small but nevertheless bright, white points of light. This makes it possible to set accents that are clearly distinguishable from other decorative lights, since the appearance of white light is very different from the familiar light of incandescent lamps and colored LEDs. Due to the low power consumption, very fine electrical conductors can be used. This also makes it possible to create net-like decorations on ceilings and walls as well as in front of windows without the electrical conductors being conspicuous. Since the SMD LED only radiates light in one direction at a defined angle, each LED can be enclosed in a piece of transparent shrink tubing, the extension of which in the longitudinal direction of the two electrical conductors is slightly larger than that of the SMD LED. This causes the light to be refracted. The light can now be perceived at a significantly larger angle than the angle of the LED.
