Abstract

Description

The invention relates to an adjustable table, in particular for installation in vehicles such as mobile homes and caravans of all kinds.

It is common knowledge that in mobile homes and caravans the existing table is often used together with the seating as a bed. This dual function saves space and costs. Such a table must be adjustable in level, i.e. it must be able to be lowered from an upper level to the bed level.

Previously, it was known, for example, to attach brackets to the vehicle wall on two levels, on which the table could either be placed or hung.

The disadvantage of this type of table mounting is that the conversion is quite cumbersome and requires skill and practice to prevent the table from slipping out of the mount and hitting the vehicle floor.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide an adjustable table in which pivoting from one level to another works easily and safely.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.

The invention is characterized in that the table top is attached to a guide bracket arranged on the wall, which forms a forced guide for the table top during a horizontal pivoting movement of the table top from an upper to a lower position.

The advantage of the invention is that the table can be swiveled easily and safely thanks to the forced guidance, without it coming loose from its holder or becoming jammed.

Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

Preferably, the guide bracket is essentially C-shaped and comprises a long leg and two opposing short legs that protrude from the long leg at an angle. However, the guide bracket can also be rectangular and self-contained, so that the free ends of the short legs are connected to one another via another long leg.

The free ends of the short legs are attached to the wall so that they can be pivoted horizontally, whereas the table top is attached to the long leg so that it can be pivoted horizontally. The horizontal distance between the upper position and the lower

The position of the table top is determined by the length of the short legs and essentially corresponds to twice the length of the short legs.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least one retaining element that can be clipped onto the guide bracket is provided for fastening the table top. The retaining element is pivotally mounted on the guide bracket and can be removed and clipped back on at any time without tools.

To prevent the table from pivoting from the upper to the lower position on its own, the holding element preferably has an edge or nose that can be hooked into a fail-safe device provided on the wall.

On the side of the table opposite the wall, at least one support leg is provided, which can be adjustable in length so that it can be adapted to the respective level of the table.

However, two support legs of different lengths can also be provided, whereby either the long or the short support leg can be used depending on the position of the table.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the adjustable table from below. The table comprises a table top 1, the rear end of which is held against the wall, and a foldable support leg 2 held in a pivot bearing 4. A second, shorter support leg, or a pair of support legs 3, is also pivotably mounted in the pivot bearing 4.

The table top 1 is attached to the wall via a guide bracket 5, which is approximately C-shaped and has a long leg 5 a and two adjoining short legs 5 b and 5 c. The free ends of the short legs 5 b and 5 c are each mounted on pivot bearings 6 attached to the wall. The guide bracket 5 can thus be pivoted from an upper position shown in Figure 1 in the direction of arrow 8 into a lower position, with the pivot axis being defined by the connecting line between the two pivot bearings 6. A detailed view of the pivot bearing 6 and the attachment of the guide bracket 5 is shown in Figure 2.

Figure 3 now shows a detail of the holding element for the table top 1. The holding element 7 comprises a clip 9, by means of which it can be clipped onto the long leg 5 a of the guide bracket 5. The failure protection device 12 is attached, for example, to the side wall of the vehicle using spacers 13.

Figure 6 shows a side view of the table in its two possible end positions. In the upper position, the guide bracket 5 is folded upwards, with the nose 11 hooked into the wall-side profile of the fail-safe device 12, so that the guide bracket 5 and the table top 1 are locked in this position.

The longer support leg 2 ensures that the table stands securely on the floor 15.

By slightly lifting the front edge of the table top 1, the nose 11 is released from the safety catch 12, making it possible to pivot the table top together with the guide bracket 5 downwards in the direction of the arrow 8, whereby the table top remains connected to the guide bracket 5 and follows its movement until the guide bracket has reached its lower position 5' and the table top 1' also reaches its lower position. The shorter pair of support legs 3 now ensures that the table stands securely, whereby the long support leg 2' is folded upwards. In this lower position, the guide bracket 5 does not need to be locked, since the table top 1 rests against the side wall 14 due to its own weight.
