Individual hardness adjustment of the individual zones in multi-zone mattresses by the mattress user.

Multi-zone mattresses of the usual design (Figure 1) (except spring or pocket spring mattresses) have cuts or milled out sections (Figure 1.1) to make the mattress softer in these areas by removing material in order to achieve better adaptability (sinking/support). The firmness of these softer zones is no longer individual and can be adjusted at any time by the mattress user.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a multi-zone mattress which the mattress user can adjust himself at any time and individually according to his needs in the zone area.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1, since the insertion or removal of counter-molds (Figure 2) (which remain inserted when the mattress core is cut to shape) creates variability, whereby the firmness in the various zones can be individually adjusted at any time by the mattress user. By removing a counter-mold, the area becomes softer, by inserting it - firmer. The cuts must be designed in such a way that a shape is created that widens from the surface towards the center of the core (e.g. an upside-down V) (Figure 1.1) in order to ensure a hold when a counter-mold is inserted. These counter-molds must therefore be inserted or removed individually. By inserting or removing these counter-molds, variability is created whereby the firmness in the various zones can be individually adjusted. The mattress user therefore has the option of adjusting the firmness of his mattress to suit his needs at any time. By inserting a counter-mold, the mattress becomes firmer, by removing it, it becomes softer.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 2.

The further development according to protection claim 2 is the application to spring or pocket spring mattresses.

This invention is also applied in the field of spring or pocket spring cores, by increasing the thickness of the conventionally used foam sheets, which serve to cover the upper and lower parts of the core, by the amount of the height of the shaped elements in order to be able to make cuts (Figure 3).

Figure 1 shows a conventional multi-zone mattress core with triangular millings, which can no longer be adjusted.

Figure 2 shows that the use of counter-molds creates an individual zone division, the strength of which the customer can determine at any time.

Figure 3 shows that the invention can also be used with spring or pocket spring cores.

Claims (2)

1. Mattresses with a core made of PUR foam, cold foam, visco-elastic foam, latex or similar material ( Fig. 1), which has shaped cuts (material removal) in the surface running across the width of the core in order to achieve a shoulder or pelvic depression through the softer segments thus created. The different firmnesses in the core thus achieve optimal body support/depression, characterized in that the cuts for the softer zones must be designed in such a way that a shape and a counter-shape ( Fig. 2.2) are created which, viewed from the surface, widen towards the center of the core (e.g. an upside-down V - Fig. 1.1). This means that these counter-shapes ( Fig. 2) can be individually inserted or removed by the mattress user themselves at any time. Inserting or removing these counter-shapes creates variability, whereby the firmness in the various zones can be individually adjusted. This means that the mattress user has the option of adjusting the firmness of their mattress at any time to suit their individual needs. By inserting a counter-mold, the mattress becomes firmer, and by removing it, it becomes softer. 2.
