Die einzelnen Besteckteile können beschichtet sein. Das aus Magnesium hergestellte Eßbesteck vereint mit seinen Eigenschaften als Nichteisenmetall die guten Eigenschaften wie geringes spezifisches Gewicht der Herstellung aus Kunststoff mit der hohen Festigkeit der aus Edelstahl.
