Description Mobile, tiltable therapy bath chair

The innovation relates to a mobile, tiltable therapy bath chair for sitz baths in the gynecology and urology area. The seat shell for holding the patient is, in a preferred design, a GRP molded shell (2) with gelcoat coating, which has an armrest (9) on both sides and a raised back wall (5) with a headrest.

Until now, sitz baths were carried out in a stationary bathtub or sitz tub, whereby getting out after the therapeutic procedure is extremely difficult.

Therapy bath chair, variant 1

The new bathing chair is simultaneously a mobile means of transport, a shower seat and a sit-down bath. The patient sits down easily, just like in a chair. For bathing, the bathing chair is tilted by a lifting element (here: motor-driven) (6). To drain the water and to get out, the bathing chair is moved back to its basic position. The water can be drained into a floor drain or into a tub or washbasin using a pump.
In one possible version, the device is supplied with a low-voltage control and 24V= removable battery system. In this version, the movements are carried out by means of a linear drive (6), which is designed for both push and pull. In this version, the chassis (3) is equipped with four double castors (4) (two of which are braked) to enable easy movement. In this possible version, the bath chair is secured against unintentional rolling away in the basic position when getting in and out by adjustable support feet (7). In this version, additional handles on the armrests support safe use of the bath chair.

The innovation relates to a mobile, tiltable therapy bath chair that can be moved to a working height at the same time so that it can be used in gynecology, urology and surgery. The seat shell (2) for holding the patient is, in a preferred version, a GRP moulded shell with

Gelcoat coating, which has an armrest on both sides (8) and a raised rear wall with headrest (9).

Until now, stationary bathtubs, sit-down tubs or shower trolleys have been used to carry out the necessary therapeutic measures.
The new multifunctional bath chair is simultaneously a mobile means of transport, a sit-in bath and a shower trolley replacement. The patient sits down easily as if in a chair, and the seat height is infinitely adjustable. A lifting element (6) (preferably an electric motor) ensures both the inclination of the bath chair and the height adjustment so that the patient can be cared for at working height.
To drain the water and to get out, the bath chair is moved back to the starting position. The water can be drained into a floor drain or into a tub or washbasin using a pump (10). Drainage grooves embedded in the seat shell prevent the remaining water from running out of the seat shell.

In one possible version, the device is supplied with a low-voltage control and 24V= removable battery system. In this version, the chassis (3) is equipped with four double castors (4) (two of which are braked) to enable easy movement and maneuvering. In this possible version, the bath chair is secured against accidental rolling away in the basic position by adjustable support feet (7) when getting in and out.

1. Therapy bath chair characterized in that the seat position can be tilted by means of a power drive unit and at the same time the height can be adjusted. 2. Therapy bath chair according to claim 1, characterized in that the chair shell is formed from GRP material. 3. Therapy bath chair according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the chair shell contains a drainage trough in the front area. 4. Therapy bath chair according to claim 1 to 3, characterized in that the support feet are adjustable. 5. Therapy bath chair according to claim 1 to 4, characterized in that the seat shell support frame has a mounted guide element. 6. Therapy bath chair according to claim 1 to 5, characterized in that the seat shell support frame includes an integrated push handle.
