Description
Insulating nonwoven fabric with or without synthetic support fibers less than 10 percent.
The invention relates to an insulating nonwoven fabric that contains no or only a small proportion of synthetic supporting fibers. The insulating nonwoven fabric consists of natural fibers, preferably hemp fibers, which are bound in a thermofusion process with the addition of ferments and an environmentally friendly fire protection agent to produce a bulk density of 20 - 25 kg/m, a water vapor diffusion resistance of 1-2μ, a thermal conductivity of 0.035 - 0.039 W/mK and a sorption moisture content of 7%. The insulating nonwoven fabric is mold-proof, achieves fire protection class B2 and can be assigned to the application type W + WL. To increase the compressive strength, a synthetic supporting fiber of 8% can be added.
Insulating fleeces are currently mainly made from mineral fibers or natural fibers with synthetic fiber content of more than 10%, and are therefore not always ecologically sound. The synthetic fiber is used to bond the fibers together. Since insulating materials are generally used as insulation, preferably in roof areas, fire protection class B2 is required. This means that the high synthetic content in the fleece requires a fire protection content of 15% or more. For cost reasons, fire retardants with a high salt content (borates) or other environmentally harmful substances are used here.
The inventor's task was therefore to develop an insulating nonwoven material that contains no or less than 10% synthetic fiber content and is therefore ecologically harmless, thus making it possible to completely or partially dispense with environmentally harmful fire retardants.
This has been achieved with the development of the insulating fleece with no or only a small proportion of synthetic supporting fibers. The insulating fleece is completely biodegradable and otherwise fulfills all the functions of previous insulating materials.

The advantage over previous insulation materials is not only its degradability but also its skin compatibility during processing and production, as it is made from long hemp fibers. Short fibers, such as those found in mineral wool, which impair the respiratory tract, could not be detected.
One advantage is the use of a liquid system. This achieves a multifunctional effect in terms of precise distribution of the substances for fire protection and bonding, while also making separate or subsequent application possible. At the same time, considerable production costs are saved.
Due to its natural sound and heat insulation properties, the insulating fleece can be installed anywhere where particular importance is placed on heat or sound insulation.
