Description Criticism of the state of the art

Mobile phones, so-called cell phones, are becoming smaller and lighter. This means that the optical displays and therefore the font sizes are also shrinking. These are usually LCD displays (liquid crystal displays), which are often also equipped with lighting. The necessary small font sizes mean that readability suffers. Visually impaired people, such as those with long-sightedness, cannot read the small displays or fonts on cell phone displays at all without reading aids or glasses.

Often, a visually impaired person does not have their visual aid to hand when the mobile phone rings and is therefore unable to see the phone number shown on the display and therefore cannot identify the caller.

Mobile phones are often used in special holders in vehicles, often in combination with a hands-free system. When used in cars in particular, it is important to be able to read the display quickly and easily, as the traffic also has to be observed.

Task and purpose of the invention

The aim is to develop an integrated, clip-on, Velcro, adhesive or clampable reading or magnification aid or device for mobile phones that makes it easier to read the mostly small displays.

Means and ways of solving tasks

The casings (1) of mobile phones are usually provided with interchangeable shells. These shells are available in different colors and different designs. These so-called mobile phones can therefore be individually converted to suit the user's taste. The corresponding conversion kits often consist of the front or upper shell (2) with display glass (3), the back or lower shell (4) and a keypad mat. The upper shell (2) is important for the purposes of the invention. Such an upper shell (2) has an integrated or loosely insertable display glass (3). Drawing 1 shows a mobile phone and an upper shell with display glass.

The new development or invention is the use of a magnifying glass (magnifier) (6) instead of the conventional display glass (3). By using a magnifying glass (plastic or real glass lens), the often very small displays (usually liquid crystal displays) (5) can be read much better and even users who are farsighted can largely read without reading aids or glasses. The magnifying glasses (6) can even be adjusted to the user's visual acuity, i.e. different display magnifying glasses or lenses can be used according to individual requirements, just as when selecting reading glasses.

A magnification device with a zoom and/or visual acuity control, as is known from optical devices (binoculars, microscopes, etc.), is also possible. In these cases, it will be a multi-lens device. Drawing 2 shows an example of an attached magnification device (7) with an advantageous adjusting wheel (8) for visual acuity control or zoom control.

It is also advantageous to have additional lighting for the magnifying device. It is important to ensure that the design is small. This can generally be achieved by using small button batteries or solar cells. Light-emitting diodes, for example, are advantageous as lighting sources.

The use of display magnifying glasses (6) or devices in or on the upper shells (2) also allows one to imagine the basic factory equipment of mobile phones.

Independently of the mobile phone covers (2) described above with integrated or insertable magnifying glasses (6) or mobile phones already equipped at the factory, you can also simply insert magnifying devices (7) onto the mobile phone casing. An example is shown in Figure 7 in Drawing 2.

Folding magnifying devices (9) are also advantageous, as they achieve the desired very good optical effect due to the resulting distance between the display and the magnifying glass (10). An example with a rear cell phone clamp (11) and a folded-in magnifying glass (6) is shown in Figure (9) of Drawing 3. However, there are a variety of hinge connections (12) and folding options. Another example design is shown in Drawing In this advantageous example, the keyboard is also enlarged! In addition, this drawing shows an example of a self-adhesive mounting plate (13) of the folding magnifying device.

Mobile phones are often used in motor vehicles. There are a variety of holders for this. For this type of use, the mobile phone holder can also be fitted with magnifying glasses (ideally foldable). The size of the magnifying device is unimportant for this type of fixed installation and can be chosen optimally. Lighting is also advantageous here. In principle, such a design will largely correspond to drawing 4. However, the magnifying device will usually be attached to the mobile phone holder or the dashboard. - 4 -

In the future, in addition to making calls, internet use will be the main focus of mobile phones. Visual use is becoming increasingly important and good and easy recognition (readability) of mobile phone displays is becoming increasingly important. In such an application, for example, the mobile phone can be plugged into an advantageous "table magnification device", which can be of a larger design. In such an application, the mobile phone does not need to be held to the ear. Drawing 5 shows a side view of an example of a magnification table housing (14) with an insertable or pluggable mobile phone. A similar design can also be imagined for mounting on the vehicle dashboard.

Claims (10)

1. Magnification aid or device for display indications of mobile telephones (so-called cell phones), characterized in that it is equipped with an exchangeable mobile telephone housing upper shell ( 2 ) with an integrated or loosely inserted display magnifying glass ( 6 ) and this magnifying glass ( 6 ) or lens consists of real glass or plastic. 2. Magnification aid or device for display indications of mobile telephones (so-called cell phones), characterized in that exchangeable magnifying glasses ( 6 ) with different visual acuity can be used. 3.
