Presentation terminal

The invention relates to a presentation terminal with a housing and a screen.

Presentation terminals of the type mentioned, in which a screen or a personal computer is arranged at approximately eye level in a frame or housing standing on the floor, have been known for some time and are used, for example, at trade fairs to provide visitor information.

Known embodiments are disadvantageous in that the screen is located at a certain height at which it can be seen or read fairly well by people of different heights, which is naturally very disadvantageous from an ergonomic point of view when operated by children or tall people.

The invention has for its object to improve a presentation terminal of the known type in such a way that the readability of the screen and generally the usability are improved for people of different body sizes.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a presentation terminal with a housing and a screen in that the screen is held on the housing on a guide so that it can be displaced in the vertical direction.

In a preferred development of the invention, it is provided that the screen has an inclination to the vertical that changes continuously over its displacement range, with the screen being inclined upwards relative to the vertical at a substantially middle position of the displacement range and being inclined downwards with increasing distance from the uppermost position. At a lowest position of the displacement range, the screen can be inclined vertically or downwards. This measure ensures that the screen can be read or operated by both tall adults and children without an excessively large vertical displacement range being required.

It can be provided that the guide is designed in the shape of a circular arc.

The housing may have a C-shaped cross-sectional shape with a cylinder jacket section-shaped rear side.

Preferably, the housing has an S-shaped front, in particular made of appropriately bent sheet metal. This achieves an elegant external appearance with minimal material expenditure.

The housing may have a C-shaped curved back, in particular made of correspondingly bent sheet metal.

It can be provided that the housing has flat side surfaces, in particular made of flat sheet metal.

Preferably, the housing has a base with a rectangular or square footprint.

Preferably, the guide has two parallel guide rails arranged at a distance from one another and bent in the shape of a circular arc, on which the screen is slidably guided. The guide rails can have a round cross-section.

The guide rails are expediently arranged at a short distance, in particular approximately 1 cm to 10 cm, in front of the front of the housing and parallel thereto. The guide rails can be attached to the housing at their ends with cylindrical supports.

Preferably, the screen is designed as a flat screen, in particular as a touchscreen screen, so that a keyboard can be dispensed with.

Preferably, the screen is mounted on ball bearings on the guide rails.

The base may have rollers for moving the presentation terminal on the floor.

It may be provided that the guide allows the screen to be moved between a height of approximately 0.8 m and approximately 2 m.

The presentation terminal preferably has a server and/or a DVD drive. The presentation terminal can also have a loudspeaker and/or a printer and possibly a card reader.

The housing may have a lockable access flap to the interior of the housing.

It is expediently provided that the housing has a vertical slot-shaped opening for cable passage in the middle between the guide rails.

The screen may have a cable feed that is covered with a cut-resistant metal flexible hose.

has a front side 2 which is convex or C-shaped in the upper area towards the front (left side in Fig. 1) and has an overall S-shape, which is curved in the base area in the opposite direction to the curvature in the upper area and is flat in the transverse direction (horizontal direction). The rear side 4 of the housing is also curved in a C-shape, so that a housing with a small depth is formed, with both the front and the rear having an essentially circular arc-shaped curvature. The side surfaces 4 of the housing are relatively narrow and lie in vertical planes. All four outer surfaces of the housing can therefore be made of flat, flat material, preferably of stainless steel sheet.

At a distance of a few centimeters in front of the front side 2 of the housing, two parallel guide rails 6 are arranged parallel to one another, which in the present embodiment have a circular cross-section and, like the front side, are curved essentially in the shape of an arc of a circle.

At their end sections, the guide rails 6 are fastened in cylindrical supports 8 on the front of the housing. A flat screen 10 in touchscreen design is guided on the guide rails 6 with suitable smooth-running bearings, preferably ball bearings, whereby a weight compensation in a known manner (spring or cable pull design) and, if necessary, a locking device are expediently provided.

In the middle of the front 2 of the housing 1 there is a vertical slot-shaped opening 12 through which the necessary cables for the screen 10 can be fed. Alternatively, the guide rails could be provided with appropriate cable holders or sliding contacts that enable power and data transmission. Wireless data transmission is also conceivable, e.g. via infrared, whereby the rails can be used to supply power.

The cables to be passed through the opening 12 are expediently sheathed to prevent damage, e.g. with a flexible metal hose.

To facilitate operation, the screen 10 has a handle 14 on its front. Operating buttons or a keyboard can be attached to the front of the screen and/or to the front of the housing, although these are not required in the case of a touchscreen version.

Loudspeakers are arranged in the side surfaces 4 of the housing, which can be seen in Fig. 1 by means of a loudspeaker opening 16.

Claims (25)

1. Presentation terminal with a housing ( 1 ) and a screen ( 10 ), characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) is held on the housing ( 1 ) on a guide ( 6 ) so as to be displaceable in the vertical direction. 2. Presentation terminal according to claim 1, characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) has an inclination to the vertical which changes continuously over its displacement range, the screen ( 10 ) being inclined upwards relative to the vertical at an uppermost position of the displacement range and being increasingly inclined downwards thereunder with increasing distance from the uppermost position. 3. Presentation terminal according to claim 2, characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) is inclined vertically or downwards at a lowest position of the sliding range. 4. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide ( 6 ) is designed in the shape of a circular arc section. 5. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has a C-shaped cross-sectional shape with a rear side in the form of a cylinder jacket section. 6. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has an S-shaped front, in particular made of an S-shaped bent metal sheet. 7. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing has a C-shaped bent rear panel, in particular made of a C-shaped bent metal sheet. 8. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has flat side surfaces ( 4 ), in particular made of flat metal sheet. 9. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has a base ( 1a ) with a rectangular or square base. 10. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide has two parallel guide rails ( 6 ) arranged at a mutual distance and bent in the shape of a circular arc. 11. Presentation terminal according to claim 10, characterized in that the guide rails ( 6 ) have a round cross-section. 12. Presentation terminal according to one of claims 5 to 11, characterized in that the guide rails are arranged at a short distance, preferably about 1 cm to 10 cm, in particular about 5 to 8 cm, in front of the front side ( 2 ) of the housing ( 1 ) and parallel thereto. 13. Presentation terminal according to one of claims 10 to 12, characterized in that the guide rails ( 6 ) are fastened at their ends to the housing ( 1 ) by means of cylindrical supports ( 8 ). 14. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) is designed as a flat screen. 15. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the screen is designed as a touchscreen screen. 16. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) is mounted on ball bearings on the guide rails ( 6 ). 17. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base ( 1 a) has rollers for moving on the floor. 18. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide ( 6 ) has a displacement of the screen between about 0.7 m, preferably 0.9 m, and about 2 m, preferably about 1.8 m in height. 19. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by a server and/or a DVD drive. 20. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by a loudspeaker and/or a printer. 21. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by a card reader. 22. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has a lockable access flap to the interior of the housing. 23. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing ( 1 ) has a vertically extending slot-shaped opening ( 12 ) for cable passage centrally between the guide rails. 24. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the screen ( 10 ) has a cable feed which is covered with a cut-resistant metal flexible hose. 25. Presentation terminal according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by wireless data transmission between housing and screen and power supply via the rails.
