Depending on its length, this dam wall (l) has one or more lifting gates (2) that extend from the ground to a height of approximately 5 m. This dam wall (l) creates a large water retention basin (3). The bottom (4) of the retention basin (3) is adapted to the seabed. It slopes down towards the sea and is shaped somewhat like a funnel. Towards the water drainage openings (5) located at the bottom of the dam wall (1). On the other side of the dam wall (1), on the sea side, the turbines are located at the outlet of the water drainage openings (5). (6)

FUNKTION :FUNCTION :

When the water level is at its lowest during low tide, the lifting gates are opened. This allows the flood to flow unhindered through the dam (1) into the water retention basin (3). When the water level is at its highest during low tide, the lifting gates are closed. The water level in the retention basin (3) is approx. 14 m. Over the next few hours, the lifting gates (2) and the water drainage openings remain closed until the sea level has reached approx. 2 m above low tide. Now the water drainage openings (5) are opened and the water from the retention basin (3) flows in a targeted manner through the funnel-shaped floor (4).

Der Vorgang wird immer wieder wiederholt.into the water outlet openings and drives the turbines (6) on the other side of the dam wall (1). When the sea has reached its lowest level, the water retention basin (3) is also empty. The lifting gates (2) are opened. The process is repeated again and again.

Claims (4)

1. Tidal power plant characterized by a dam built in a natural bay and acting as a water retention basin. 2. 2. Tidal power plant characterized by the fact that lifting gates are installed in the dam wall, which enable the water retention basin to be filled without any problems. 3. 3. Tidal power plant characterized in that the bottom is funnel-shaped, which increases the water pressure in the water drainage openings. 4. 4. Tidal power plant characterized in that water drainage openings are installed in front of the turbines.
