Warm protective clothing

The present invention relates to a thermal protective clothing item in the form of a jacket, trousers, overalls, dungarees or the like, wherein the thermal protective clothing item is predominantly made of a fluorescent material and is equipped with one or more reflective strips made of a retroreflective material in the central region and a fluorescent material in the respective edge region.

High-visibility clothing of the aforementioned type is well known and is required, for example, by firefighters, rescue services or similar professional groups as protective clothing when participating in public traffic. The purpose of such high-visibility clothing is to enable early detection of people wearing such clothing, particularly in poor visibility or in the dark.

In this sense, reflective strips are of particular importance. The reflective strips on high-visibility clothing have so far been single-layered,

A disadvantage of the known reflective strips is that the width of the retroreflective central area is too small compared to the relevant standards.

Single-layer reflective strips in a size that complies with relevant standards are not available on the market. However, the single-layer reflective strips that are available do not make it possible to create a certifiable high-visibility garment.

The color of the reflective strips is yellow/silver/yellow, but other color combinations are also conceivable.

The present invention is based on the object of creating a high-visibility clothing item of the generic type, in which reflective strips are applied in a simple and cost-effective manner, which comply with the relevant standards and thus lead to a certifiable high-visibility clothing item.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that each reflective strip consists of separate strips of fluorescent and retroreflective material.

In a high-visibility clothing item according to the invention, prefabricated reflective strips are no longer used, but strips of fluorescent and retroreflective material are used independently of one another and applied to the high-visibility clothing item. This makes it possible to apply the middle strip of material, made of retroreflective material, in a size that complies with the relevant standards without any problems and in a cost-effective manner.

Figure 1 shows a high-visibility clothing item 1 in the form of a jacket, which is essentially made of a fluorescent material and is equipped with several reflective strips 2.

In the illustrated embodiment, reflective strips 2 are provided in the chest area, in the lower edge area and in the lower edge area of the sleeves 3 of the jacket.

According to the invention, each reflective strip 2 consists of separate material strips 4 made of fluorescent material and material strips 5 made of retroreflective material.

As Figure 2 clearly shows, a strip of material 4 made of fluorescent material can be sewn directly onto the high-visibility clothing item 1 and a narrower strip of material 5 made of retroreflective material can be sewn onto the first-mentioned strip of material. Both strips of material 4 and 5 are ultimately available in any width, whereby in the present case dimensions are chosen in which the strip of material 5 made of retroreflective material has a width of approximately 50 mm, while the strip of material made of

fluorescent material, has a greater width, so that the edge regions of the material strip 4 projecting beyond the material strip 5 still have a visible width of approximately 5-6 mm.

Alternatively, as shown in Figure 3, two narrow edge strips 4 made of fluorescent material can be sewn onto the protective clothing and partially covered by a strip of material 5 made of retroreflective material.

Going beyond the illustrated embodiments, it is of course also possible to apply narrow edge strips 4 made of fluorescent material, partially covering a material strip 5 made of retroreflective material.

Finally, it is also conceivable to attach two narrow edge strips 4 made of fluorescent material directly to the edges of a material strip 5 made of retroreflective material on the protective clothing item 1.

In all these cases, it is possible to choose the visible area of the material strip 5 made of retroreflective material so large that these dimensions comply with the relevant standards.

Deviating from the embodiment shown, the thermal protection garment 1 can of course also have the form of trousers, overalls, dungarees or the like.

Claims (8)

1. High-visibility clothing in the form of a jacket, trousers, overalls, dungarees or the like, the high-visibility clothing being made predominantly from a fluorescent material and being equipped with one or more reflective strips made from a retroreflective material in the central region and a fluorescent material in the respective edge region, characterized in that each reflective strip ( 2 ) consists of separate material strips ( 4 , 5 ) made from fluorescent and retroreflective material. 2. High-visibility clothing item according to claim 1, characterized in that the different material strips ( 4 , 5 ) are sewn onto the high-visibility clothing item ( 1 ) so as to partially overlap one another. 3. High-visibility clothing item according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a material strip ( 4 ) made of fluorescent material is sewn directly onto the high-visibility clothing item ( 1 ) and a narrower material strip ( 5 ) made of retroreflective material is sewn onto the first-mentioned material strip ( 4 ). 4. High-visibility clothing item according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a material strip ( 5 ) made of retroreflective material is sewn onto two narrow edge strips ( 4 ) made of fluorescent material in a partially overlapping manner. 5. High-visibility clothing item according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that two narrow edge strips ( 4 ) made of fluorescent material are sewn onto the high-visibility clothing item ( 1 ) so as to partially cover the edge region of a material strip ( 5 ) made of retroreflective material. 6. High-visibility clothing item according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that two narrow edge strips ( 4 ) made of fluorescent material are sewn onto the high-visibility clothing item ( 1 ) directly adjacent to the edges of a material strip ( 5 ) made of retroreflective material. 7. High-visibility clothing item according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the width of the material strip ( 5 ) consisting of retroreflective material is approximately 50 mm. 8. High-visibility clothing item according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the reflective strips ( 2 ) are designed in a color combination yellow/silver/yellow.
