Drain plugs of the usual design, which are used in wash basins, for example, and can be lowered into or lifted out of the drain using a rod, have a significant disadvantage: Along with the waste water from personal care, hair washing, textile washing, etc., drain-clogging hair, fluff and other dirt particles also flow unhindered into the drain, which can sooner or later narrow the drain pipes in places and then block them. Valuable items such as earrings, necklaces and rings also often accidentally disappear down the drain.

Now, you can buy drain strainers, but to use them in the basin drain, the drain plug has to be removed, which means that it can no longer be used to close the basin. This means that it is no longer possible to fill the basin (e.g. to soak a shirt). In addition, the commercially available drain strainers are made with a very low filling height.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a drain plug which, as before, can be conveniently operated remotely via a mechanism (operating rod) and which seals the drain tightly when required, but at the same time serves as a collecting sieve for unwanted dirt in the drain when the basin drain is opened and also prevents the loss of valuables (such as jewelry by falling into the drain).

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1 , which describe a drain plug with an attached sieve cylinder.

The invention makes it possible to seal a basin and/or tub drain tightly and, when the drain is opened, the water flowing out is filtered, which catches hair, fibres and other unwanted dirt particles in the drain as well as valuables.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2, 3 and 4.

The further development according to claim 2 ensures that the external thread on the lower part of the plug axis and the internal thread in the middle of the sieve cylinder base allow the sieve cylinder to be separated from the plug without tools and thus to be easily emptied and cleaned.

The further development according to claim 3 has the effect that the drain plug with the sieve cylinder can be connected to and detached from the plug operating rod without tools through the downwardly open connection eyelet on the underside of the sieve cylinder.

The further development according to claim 4 has the effect that the guide ring on the waste water inlet opening of the sieve cylinder, the outer diameter of which fits precisely into the inner diameter of the basin drain, enables the invention to provide good movement guidance in the basin drain.

Figures 1 and 2 show the drain plug with sieve cylinder with the disc-shaped closure cap 1, the plug axis 2, the sieve cylinder 3, the connecting eyelet 4, the closure cap seal 5 and the guide ring.

To insert the drain plug with sieve cylinder, it is inserted into the pool drain and pressed by hand onto the existing operating rod by pressing on the closure cap 1 in the longitudinal direction of the drain plug until the connecting eyelet 4 engages on the rod. The drain plug with sieve cylinder can now be raised and lowered in the pool drain like conventional drain plugs with the operating rod.

Tilting or jamming of the drain plug with sieve cylinder is prevented by the guide ring 6, which ensures that the invention is well guided in the basin drain pipe when it is raised and lowered. If the drain plug with sieve cylinder is lowered completely, the basin drain is sealed watertight with the closure cap 1 and the ring-shaped closure cap seal 5 that runs around it. The basin can now be filled. If the drain plug with sieve cylinder is raised, the basin drain is released and the basin filling passes through the guide ring 6 into the sieve cylinder 3, which catches hair, fibers and other dirt particles, and then through the openings in the sieve cylinder into the drain pipe. To empty and clean the sieve cylinder, first the drain plug with sieve cylinder is separated from the operating rod by pulling on the cap 1 and removed from the basin drain. Then the sieve cylinder 3 is unscrewed from the plug axis 2 by turning and can then be easily emptied and cleaned. Then the sieve cylinder 3 is screwed back onto the plug axis and is ready for use again.

Claims (4)

1. Drain plug with sieve cylinder, characterized in that a drain plug with a disk-shaped closure cap ( 1 ) and an annular closure cap seal ( 5 ) running around the closure cap ( 1 ), which can be lowered and raised in the drain by a conventional basin drain operating rod, has a sieve cylinder ( 3 ) on the plug axis ( 2 ). 2. Drain plug with sieve cylinder, characterized in that an external thread is manufactured at the lower end of the plug axis ( 2 ) for connecting and separating the sieve cylinder ( 3 ) with and from the plug axis ( 2 ), which can be screwed without tools to the internal thread in the bottom of the sieve cylinder ( 3 ) and can also be separated again without tools, thereby enabling problem-free cleaning of the sieve cylinder. 3. Drain plug with sieve cylinder, characterized in that a downwardly open connecting eyelet ( 4 ) is attached to the underside of the sieve cylinder ( 3 ), whereby the drain plug with sieve cylinder can be connected without tools to the operating rod, which serves to raise and lower the drain plug with sieve cylinder, by compressive force on the closure cap ( 1 ) in the downward longitudinal direction of the plug axis ( 2 ), and can also be separated again from the operating rod by applying a tensile force to the closure cap ( 1 ) in the upward longitudinal direction of the plug axis ( 2 ). 4. Drain plug with sieve cylinder, characterized in that a guide ring ( 4 ) is manufactured on the waste water inlet opening of the sieve cylinder ( 3 ) located at the top of the sieve cylinder ( 3 ), the outer diameter of which fits exactly into the inner diameter of the basin drain opening, whereby the drain plug with sieve cylinder is easily guided when it is raised or lowered in the basin drain.
