Lid closure for storage and transport containers

Storage and transport containers should generally be as versatile as possible. This often requires a hinged lid with a simple but reliable closure. The latter should not only securely close the lid but also allow it to be locked.

In addition, this lid closure should prevent accidental opening due to external influences such as wind, animals or small children and should be operable from both the outside and, if necessary, from the inside of the container. The aim of the innovation is to create a cost-effective, self-locking lid closure that is easy to operate from the inside and outside and can also be locked, and which can also compensate for existing workpiece and assembly tolerances.

This problem underlying the innovation is solved by the teaching of the main claim.

Advantageous embodiments are described in the subclaims. The innovation is illustrated in figures I to IV, in which an embodiment is shown.

A container (8) that is open at the top is provided with a hinged lid (9). This is attached with hinges on one side and locked on the sides facing away from the hinges with one or more of the lid locks described. The latter consist of the individual parts locking pin claw (2), counter tongue (3) and two-part fastening clamp (6).

The locking pin claw consists practically of a leg spring with legs of different lengths, whereby the longer leg is deformed at its end as shown in Fig. Il.

The counter tongue (3) attached to the cover consists of a flat profile with a fastening flange at one end and a deflection surface (5) at the other end. The main web (3a) can be rigid or spring-loaded as required.

The two-part fastening clamp (6) attached to the container wall (1) consists of a base clamp (6a) and a mounting clamp (6b). The short leg of the locking pin claw is attached and the long leg of the same is guided through this jointly mounted overall clamp, with the opening (7) enabling it to be locked using a padlock.

The spring travel of the locking pin and the spring travel of the counter tongue together can create such a large tolerance compensation that the locking function is maintained even if the container wall bulges under load.

All parts of the lid closure can be made of both metallic and synthetic materials.

Claims (8)

1. Lid closure for storage and transport containers, characterized by a locking pin claw ( 2 ) mounted on the outside of the container, shaped and acting like a leg spring, penetrating through the container wall ( 1 ), wherein the same engages in a hook-shaped counter tongue ( 3 ) fastened to the inside of the lid. 2. Lid closure according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking pin claw ( 2 ) is provided in its upper region with an outwardly projecting deformation ( 4 ) such that, in order to open the closure, the locking pin claw can be gripped behind and the locking pin ( 2a ) can be pulled outwards. 3. Lid closure according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the lower hook-shaped end of the counter tongue ( 3 ) is designed such that it serves as a wedge-shaped deflection surface ( 5 ) when closing the lid and as a locking hook after closing the lid. 4. Lid closure according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the main web ( 3a ) of the counter tongue ( 3 ) is designed to be resilient or rigid. 5. Lid closure according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the locking pin claw ( 2 ) is both fastened and guided on the container wall with a two-part fastening clamp ( 6 ). 6. Lid closure according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fastening clamp ( 6 ) is provided with an opening ( 7 ) for receiving a safety hook or a padlock. 7. Lid closure according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the same can be used not only on horizontally arranged hinged lids, as shown, but also on lids mounted in other positions and guided differently. 8. Lid closure according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is made not only from metallic but also from synthetic materials.
