Die über die gesamte Arbeitsbreite der Rollenschneidmaschine reichende Schneidwal ze 1 weist einen Durchmesser von 400 mm bis 650 mm auf und besteht aus einem hohlzylinderförmigen Tragkörper 2 aus einem Faserverbundwerkstoff, bevorzugt aus einem Kohlefaser-Harz-Verbundwerkstoff mit längsgespannten Fasern. An jeder Stirnseite ist jeweils ein Wellenzapfen 3 koaxial zur Drehachse 4 befestigt, an denen die Schneidwalze 1 im Gestell der Rollenschneidmaschine gelagert wird. Die radial gemessene Dicke der den Tragkörper 2 bildenden Zylinderschale aus Faserver bundwerkstoff ist in Abhängigkeit von der Walzenlänge so bemessen, daß die geforderte Stabilität vorliegt. Bevorzugt befindet sich unterhalb der Nuten 6 noch eine Metallschicht von ca. 0,5 mm Dicke. Die Tiefe der Nuten 6 beträgt bevorzugt 2 bis 3 mm, ihre axial gemessene Breite und die Breite der Zwischenstege 7 beträgt ca. 1 mm. B. durch Flamm- oder Plasmaspritzen, eine dünne Schicht von weniger als 5 mm eines Metalls, vorzugsweise von Aluminium, aufgetragen. In die metallische Schicht 5 werden anschließend durch spanende Bearbeitung die Nuten 6 eingearbeitet. Nach der Einarbeitung der Nuten 6 wird die Außenfläche der metallischen Schicht 5 zur Erhöhung der Härte in einem chemischen Abscheidever fahren ohne äußere Stromquelle mit Nickel beschichtet.The cutting roller 1 is manufactured in such a way that the hollow cylinder-shaped support body 2 is first produced from a fiber composite material.
