Der Hahn besteht aus zwei Haupttheilen, dem Zuleitungsstück α und dem Fortleitungsbezw. Auslaufstück b, welches letztere nach einer Seite hin eine cylindrische, in ihrer Wandung mit einem Längsschlitz und aufsen mit Gewinde versehene Erweiterung hat, so dafs das Zuleitungsstück a mit seinem cylindrischen Kopfe c eingeschoben und mittelst des Einsatzstückes d und der Uebermutter e fest mit b verbunden werden kann. Die Abdichtung beider Haupttheile geschieht durch das zu beiden Seiten von c eingeschobene elastische Dichtungsmittel f und g, welches gleichzeitig zur Abdichtung des zum Oeffnen und Schliefsen des Hahnes angewendeten cylindrischen Bolzens h dient.The cock consists of two main parts, the feed piece α and the forwarding bezw. Umschliefsen die Dichtungen den Bolzen nicht mehr dicht, so genügt ein Anziehen der Uebermutter e, um die Dichtungen fest gegen die Oberfläche von h zu drücken. Wird der Hahn als Durchgangshahn benutzt, so bietet derselbe den Vortheil, dafs man die Leitung, in welche er eingeschaltet ist, zerlegen kann, ohne einer besonderen Verschraubung zu bedürfen.
