Von dem Zahnsegment wird die Bewegung durch das Zahnrad T1, welches mit einem Keil in eine Nuth der Nadelstange eingreift, auf letztere übertragen. Auf der Welle B befindet sich aufserdem eine Curvenscheibe F, Fig. 3, welcher vermittelst der Stange G und des Sperrgetriebes / einer im unteren Theil der Maschine befindlichen zweiten Welle J eine stofsweise Drehung ertheilt wird. Diese Drehung hat die Transportirung des Stoffes nach Vollendung des Stiches zum Zweck und wird durch Vermittelung des Zahnradgetriebes Ex auf die Welle C\ Fig. 1, übertragen, welche an ihrem vorderen Ende den Transporteur trägt. In heruntergeschlagener Stellung wird der Tisch durch einen besonderen Drückerfufs W, Fig. 2, niedergehalten und dadurch der Transporteur auf den Stoff gedrückt. Dieser Druck wird durch eine auf dem Drückerfufs angebrachte Feder, Fig. 2, hervorgerufen. Damit aber beim Aufwärtsgehen der Nadel verhindert wird, dafs der Stoff mitgenommen wird, ist am oberen Ende der Nadelstange eine Druckvorrichtung angebracht, welche aus dem zweiarmigen Hebel M, dem Schieber L mit einer Frictionsrolle und dem Curvenrad K besteht, Fig. 1. Geht die Nadel in die Höhe, so wird gleichzeitig durch eine Erhöhung des Rades K der Schieber L und mit ihm der längere Arm des Hebels M gehoben. Infolge dessen senkt sich der kürzere Arm und drückt mit seinem oberen und unteren Ende gegen den Drückerfufs W. Das Anpressen der Frictionsrolle an das Curvenrad und das Abheben der Klemmung erfolgt durch Feder JV, Fig. 1. In dem Gestell der Maschine ist noch eine dritte Welle E angebracht, welche durch das Zwischenrad D von der Hauptwelle B aus getrieben wird und dem Fadenführer P eine eigenthümliche Bewegung ertheilt, vermöge welcher der Faden um die Nadel herumgeschlungen wird. Diese Bewegung des Fadenführers wird dadurch ermöglicht, dafs man denselben um eine parallel zur Vorderseite der Maschine laufende Achse drehbar macht, während sich diese selbst um eine senkrecht windschief zur ersten stehende, im Gestell der Maschine gelagerte Achse O drehen läfst. Die Bewegung des Fadenführers wird in folgender Weise eingeleitet: Der untere Theil des Fadenführers greift mit einem kugelförmigen Ansatz in eine cylindrische Nuth auf der Welle E ein und erhält von dieser eine vor- und rückwärtsgehende Bewegung. Zugleich wird eine seitliche Bewegung des Fadenführers dadurch hervorgerufen, dafs an die Welle O ein Hebel angegossen ist, welcher mit einer Frictionsrolle in eine excentrische Nuth des auf der Welle E befindlichen Cylinders Q greift, Fig. 2 und 7, wodurch die Welle O gedreht und der Fadenführer seitlich bewegt wird. Ueber dem Fadenführer und direct unter dem Transporteur ist der Tisch Hx angebracht, auf welchem der zu nähende Stoff ruht, Fig. 1, 2 und 5. Derselbe ist rund gestaltet und mit dem Gestell der Maschine in der Weise verbunden, dafs er leicht abgenommen werden kann. Das Abheben des Drückerfufses von dem Stoff nach Vollendung der Naht geschieht durch den Handgriff JV, Fig. 1, welcher mit einer schraubenförmigen Fläche gegen einen Stift der Drückerstange anliegt und diese bei Drehung des Handgriffs hebt bezw. senkt. Zur Darstellung der Bewegung der einzelnen Glieder der Maschine denke man sich die Dauer einer Umdrehung des Schwungrades in 16 gleiche Zeittheile getheilt, Fig. 19, so dafs Punkt I den höchsten Stand der Nadel angiebt. Während der ersten 8 Zeittheile, bis Punkt IX, findet somit ein Senken der Nadel statt. Während der Periode I bis III wird die Nadel, bevor sie in das Leder eintritt, um 90° gedreht, um während der Periode I bis VII, nach dem Austritt aus dem Leder, wieder um 90° zurückgedreht zu werden. Diese Drehung geschieht unter Vermittelung des Zahnrades T1 durch das Zahnsegment U, dessen Bewegung durch einen Zapfen von der Nuth S auf der Welle B regulirt wird. Zugleich wird während der Zeit von Punkt I bis IX der Fadenführer P seitwärts und wieder zurück bewegt, Fig. 8 bis 15, indem er während der Periode V bis XI durch die Curve Q zugleich vor- und wieder rückwärts bewegt wird. Diese zweifache Bewegung hat den Zweck, den Faden um die Nadel herunizulegen, wenn sie unter das Leder' getreten ist. Von Punkt IX bis XVI steigt die Nadel, nachdem sie den Faden erfafst hat, wieder in die Höhe, wobei durch den Drückerfufs W während der Periode XII bis XVI verhütet wird, dafs das Leder mit in die Höhe gezogen wird. Bei Punkt XIV bis XV tritt die Nadel aus dem Stoff heraus. Von Punkt XV bis wieder zu Punkt III beginnt die Nuth, Fig. 3, zu wirken und schiebt mittelst des Sperrrades / die Welle um einen Zahn vorwärts.
