Die entstandene Kalkmilch läßt man dann aus dem Gefäß F durch die Rohre C2 und C1 nach dem Boden des Gefäßes C strömen. Gleichzeitig strömt aus G durch Rohr C3 weiches Wasser in das Rohr C1. Das so durch Einwirkung einer bestimmten Menge reinen Wassers auf die Kalkmilch gebildete Kalkwasser und die geeignete Menge Sodalösung treten in die Kammer C8 ein und werden durch das Rührwerk C6 mit dem harten Wasser innig gemischt, wodurch die fällbaren Bestandteile desselben niedergeschlagen werden. Das weich gemachte Wasser fließt schließlich in das den Klärbehälter A ringförmig umgebende Gefäß B.
