Die Brandkappe eines Flachdochtbrenners führt vermöge ihrer kuppelartigen Gestaltung
die Luft, welche zum Verbrennen der producirten Oelgase verwendet wird, zum gröfsten
Theil in den Mittelpunkt der Flamme. Die Seitentheile der Flamme erhalten verhältnifsmäfsig
viel weniger Luft zugeführt, als der Mittelpunkt derselben. Um daher ein richtiges
Verhältnifs zwischen der den jeweiligen Punkten der Flamme zugeführten Verbrennungsluft und
den producirten Oelgasen herzustellen, müssen dem Mittelpunkte der Flamme verhältnifsmäfsig
mehr Oelgase zugeführt werden, als . den Seitentheilen
derselben, und dieses wird, wie aus der beiliegenden Zeichnung ersichtlich ist, dadurch
erzielt, dafs die Dochthülsen an ihrer Mün-' dung den hohlen Ausschnitt abc erhalten.
