Ist die Sitzfläche des Klappstuhles aus mehreren Holzleisten, statt aus einer Platte ausgebildet, so kann man die Führung derselben am besten U-förmig wählen. Diese U-förmige Führungsschiene b¹, welche sich an jeder Breitseite der Sitzfläche befindet, ist in der ganzen Breite des Sitzes durchgeführt und kann gleichzeitig die Verbindung zwischen den einzelnen Hölzern h bilden. Wie im Ausführungsbeispiel (Fig. 1 und 2) dargestellt, ist der Stuhl in bekannter Weise aus den beiden Scherenstücken k I zusammengesetzt, während der Bügel m den äußersten Hub der auseinander geklappten Schenkel begrenzt. Dieser Bügel ist um den Schenkel k herumgelegt und hat ein Winkelstück in¹ mit Zapfen 0 an jeder Seite. Diese Zapfen ο passen in die U-förmigen Führungen b^x und sind leicht in denselben bewegbar. Um die Sitzfläche umzulegen, klappt man vorher das Stuhlgestell mit den Scheren k I (Fig. 2) zusammen. In dieser zusammengeklappten Stellung hebt man die Stuhlfläche an, bis in die in Fig. 2 punktiert gezeichnete Stellung, bis der Zapfen 0 an das andere Ende der Nut b¹ gelangt ist. In dieser äußersten Stellung kann man alsdann die Sitzfläche in der Pfeilrichtung (Fig. 2) umdrehen, so daß der nun wieder aufgeklappte Stuhl mit derjenigen Sitzfläche nach oben kommt, welche in Fig. 1 nach unten gekehrt war. Je nach der Schweifung der Sitzfläche bezw. der Lehne muß der Winkel m¹ mit dem Zapfen ο ausladen bezw. abgebogen sein. Es kann die Führung für die Sitzfläche eine andere sein und an Stelle der gezeichneten Zapfen eine andere Führungsart gewählt werden.
