Neuerungen an Hufeisen.Innovations to horseshoes.

Der Zweck dieser Neuerungen ist:The purpose of these innovations is:

1. ein Hufeisen herzustellen, welches so am Hufe befestigt wird, dafs es der natürlichen Elasticität der Hufwände freien Spielraum läfst und dadurch einer Krankheit des Hufes vorbeugt; 1. α ist ein Hufeisen der gebräuchlichen Form, in dessen einer Seite, auf der oberen Fläche, ein schwalbenschwanzförmiger Einschnitt b eingebracht ist. In diesen Einschnitt b ist ein besonderes Stück Eisen c genau eingepafst, welches das Hufeisen vervollständigt und mit Nagellöchern versehen ist, wie auch die andere Hälfte des Eisens solche in der gewöhnlichen, Art hat. dd sind nach aufwärts stehende Ansätze, auf der oberen Fläche des Hufeisens und an dessen hinterem Theil angebracht, bestimmt, lose den Raum zwischen den Hufwänden auszufüllen, wenn das Eisen aufgeschlagen ist. An seinem vorderen Theil, an der inneren Kante bei e, ist das Hufeisen ausgeschnitten, damit dasselbe an diesem Theil schwächer werde, als an den anderen Stellen. Infolge dessen wird sich das Hufeisen bei Anwendung von Gewalt zwischen den Ansätzen dd, um letztere aus einander zu spreizen und dabei nur bei e und nicht an einem dazwischen liegenden Punkt biegen. Hierdurch ist einem Einklemmen oder Festsetzen des beweglichen Theiles c in seinem Einschnitt vorgebeugt und auch eine gleichförmige oder geeignete Ausdehnung des Hufes im Falle einer Krankheit ermöglicht, wie nachstehend deutlicher erklärt werden soll. α is a horseshoe of the usual shape, in one side of which, on the upper surface, a dovetail-shaped incision b is made.
