Den Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung bildet eine Kratzensetzmaschine zur Herstellung von U-förmigen Kratzenzä'hnen mit Doppelknie, bei welcher an dem von vornherein auf seine ganze Länge durch den Kratzenstoff gesteckten Kratzenzahn das eine Knie hergestellt wird, indem der Croqueur von der Kratzengrundstofflage gegen die freien Zahnenden zurückgehend die letzteren festhält, und dann eine vor den Hakenenden des Croqueurs hochgehende Kante (eine besondere bewegliche Croqueurlade) das Knie durchdrückt, während das andere Knie nach Rückkehr der beweglichen Croqueurlade und des Croqueurs in die Anfangsstellung durch den Croqueur an der vor der Kratzengrundstofflage feststehenden Croqueurlade in gewöhnlicher Weise hergestellt wird. Bei älteren Maschinen zur Herstellung von Kratzenzähnen mit mehrfachem Knie schwingt zum mehrfachen Knicken der Zähne der Croqueur mehrmals nach unten und ebenso oft wird der Zahn über die Croqueurlade vorgeschoben, so daß die Zähne zunächst nur teilweise durch den Stoff hindurchgesteckt, geknickt, dann, wenn Doppelkniee hergestellt werden sollen, ganz hindurchgedrückt und endlich zum zweiten Male geknickt werden. Der in seiner ganzen Länge von vornherein durch den Kratzenstoff α gesteckte, mit Knieen zu versehende Kratzenzahn b wird während der ganzen Behandlung in bekannter Weise von dem Schieber c fest gegen die Rückwand des Kratzenstoffes α gehalten.
