Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The present invention is a method for briquetting of ore, mineral, Rock and metal small, blast furnace dust, slag sand and similar materials and is based on the fact that in the substances to be briquetted there is an insoluble one that determines the bond Niederlag is produced by the fact that the material creates solutions which are immediately formed convert an insoluble body, are added.
In the book by Krätzer, "Wasserglas und Infusorienerde", Vienna 1887, pp. 53 and 55, a method is described, according to which artificial, from sand and water glass solution shaped stones treated with solutions for the purpose of covering them with a solid top layer which form an insoluble body with the water glass. The finished stones are mixed with a calcium chloride solution for the purpose and that advantageously in the Witrme - at 100 ° - treated. Of the Silicic acid lime which precipitates out displaces the pores and thus coats the surface of the stones with a solid impermeable layer, thereby preventing the penetration of the destructive Influence of the atmosphere in the interior.
Against this method, the purpose of the invention is not the finished briquettes or To cover stones with an impermeable top layer, but rather the briquettes even to produce them in such a way that they can be removed neither during transport, nor by mechanical or atmospheric influences disintegrate and their individual particles through the whole mass are evenly cemented to each other. A binding agent is used for this purpose, which only in the material to be briquetted, and indeed in extremely fine distribution is produced by soaking the material one after the other with two solutions, which dissolve to form an insoluble one Implement body. It is clear that even with the best mechanical aids such an intimate mixture of two bodies cannot be achieved as after the present proceedings is possible. The one in the finest pores and spaces The solid precipitate that forms on the material provides a binder which all others by the fact that it cemented the smallest particles together.
Nur entstehen in der Natur auf diese Weise dieIn the precipitate that has arisen everywhere, the materials are to a certain extent as in embedded in a base material, which is already under relatively low pressure Prefsstück that are reminiscent of natural stones or rock conglomerates. The process in the present Trap is the same as similar processes in nature. Here, too, reactions formed by salt solutions on each other precipitates, which, between loose materials arising from cementing these together. Only in this way do they arise in nature
Gesteine bezw. Rocks resp. Rock conglomerates usually only in the course of a very long period of time, since the Pressure is often low.
The aqueous solutions of a magnesium, Calcium or aluminum salt on the one hand and the aqueous solutions of potassium, sodium or Ammonium salts on the other hand. For example, it uses magnesium sulfate and sodium carbonate is used, a precipitate of basic magnesium carbonate forms according to the following equation:
2 Mg SO4 + 2 Na2 CO3 + H2O = Mg CO3 Mg H2O2 + 2 Na2 SO4 + CO2. 2 Mg SO 4 + 2 Na 2 CO 3 + H 2 O = Mg CO 3 Mg H 2 O 2 + 2 Na 2 SO 4 + CO 2 .
Magnesium chlorine and sodium hydroxide solution are also suitable. Calcium chloride and carbonate of potash, chloroaluminum or aluminum sulfate and ammonia, calcium chloride and sodium sulphate; by mixing these named bodies in aqueous solutions also insoluble precipitates, which serve as binders.
Das Verfahren wird beispielsweise in folgender Weise ausgeführt:The procedure is carried out, for example, in the following way:
The mass to be briquetted becomes intimate with an aqueous solution of magnesium sulphate mixed and this mixture then stirred with an aqueous' solution of sodium carbonate, the amount of sodium carbonate being equal to the amount of magnesium sulfate used must.
The effect of the two solutions results in the one given in the above equation insoluble basic magnesium carbonate, which is extremely fine in the material to be briquetted Is distributed wisely.
Already in the Swedish patent 8458 there are references to an insoluble salt to be produced in the mass to be briquetted, but not for the purpose of binding, but for this purpose the proprietor of that patent uses magnesite and chloromagnesium and gives the manufacture a carbonate or phosphate salt in solution only from the Prefsstücks Reasons to add any existing lime to insoluble calcium carbonate or calcium phosphate and to prevent disintegration in humid air.
Even with any other suggested additions of solutions or liquids (British patent 29865/1896, British Patent 9610/1898) it is not a question of the production of per se bindable precipitates in the material to be briquetted, but about the material mainly to prevent deterioration through weathering.
