Bei dem vorliegenden Verschmelzofen für Prefsglaswaaren wird eine rauchfreie Stichflamme erzeugt und dieselbe von der Feuerung her in einen besonderen Verschmelzraum geleitet, wo sie durch besonders angeordnete Abzüge des letzteren so geführt wird, dafs sie das in den Schmelzraum hineingehaltene-Werkstück möglichst vollständig umspült. In dieser besonderen Führung der Stichflamme wird ähnlichen, mit Gasdüsen arbeitenden, ebenfalls mit Stichflamme in einem besonderen Schmelzraum wirkenden Auftreiböfen gegenüber die neue Erfindung erblickt, welche hauptsächlich den Vortheil einer besseren Einwirkung der Hitze auf das Arbeitsstück und daher eine schnellere Fertigstellung des letzteren mit sich bringt.
