Die vorliegende Flanschenverbindung ist für schmiedeiserne Röhren mit durch Umbiegung gebildeten Flanschen bestimmt und besteht aus einem Klemmringpaar, mittels dessen die Flanschen zusammengedrückt werden. Die Verbindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dals die Klemmringe am äufseren Rande der einander zugekehrten Seiten mit je einer vorspringenden Rippe versehen sind, mit denen die Ringe beim Anziehen der Schrauben zunächst in gegenseitige Berührung treten. Sobald dies der Fall ist und die Schrauben darauf weiter angezogen werden, tritt unter geringem Durchdrücken der Klemmringe in erhöhtem Mafse eine gegenseitige Annäherung der inneren Ränder der Klemmringe ein, wobei die letzteren — im Querschnitt betrachtet — nach Art einarmiger Hebel wirken, indem gleichsam ein gegenseitiges Einwärtsschwenken der inneren Ränder der Ringe um den am äufseren Rande von den Rippen gebildeten Stützpunkt stattfindet.
