KLASSEGREAT
Farben verwenden. The present invention relates to embellishment of materials, which in a known manner by means of the plissé machines in regular Creases are laid, which is known to be just as wide at the same time as the fabric Layer of paper is pleated in order to keep the folds in place until they are final by heat or the like. to keep the form once it has taken on. the Beautification of this type of fabrics respectively. the peculiar, the subject of the present The way of decoration which forms the invention consists in the fact that the respective downwardly directed Edges of the individual folds soaked resp. can be printed. The choice of colors depends on the particular effect that you want to achieve with this new process. Metal powder, liquid or dry bronzes or similar colors can be used for this purpose.
The drawing shows, on an enlarged scale, that to be treated according to the new method Fabric and Fig. Ι a section through the pleated tape in question with the paper used for shaping, while Fig. 2 shows a section through the fabric.
When the fabric t and the paper p are folded at the same time, as is done by the known pleated machine, the paper lies on top of the fabric. The fabric leaves the machine in the shape shown in FIG. In this state, the color in question is brought to the lower edge α b of the pleated tape. The paint can be applied by means of a brush or a cylinder, but also finally by pulling the lower edge of the tape through a bath with the paint solution in question. This coloring can take place either before, during or after pleating. It is advisable to choose colors which dry so quickly that the paper can be lifted from the fabric immediately after the tape has been removed from the machine. The color thus applied to the edge of the folds penetrates more or less deeply into the fabric in question, depending on its density and that of the fabric, and, after the paper has been removed, leaves behind lines c which give the pleated fabric a peculiar appearance, especially when looking at the fabric from the right side in a certain direction. This effect, in connection with the reflex naturally found in pleated fabrics, results in peculiar light effects, which produce a particularly delicate ornamentation of the fabric in question.
