Bei Bogenlampen, in denen die Elektroden nach unten gerichtet sind, werden diese zeitweise ausgelöst, damit sie einen dem Abbrande entsprechenden Nachschub erhalten. Bei Lampen mit mehreren Kohlenpaaren können auf diese Weise sogar zwei oder mehrere Kohlenpaare gleichzeitig ausgelöst werden. Zu diesem Zwecke erhält jedes Kohlenpaar (Fig. 2) eine der beschriebenen Anordnungen, wobei im Punkte g ein gemeinsamer Drehhebel befestigt wird, der seinerseits wieder durch den Hebel f den nothwendigen Druck erhält.
