Allgemein ist es üblich, für in Unterputzdosen einzubauende Installationsgeräte eine genormte Unterputzdose vorzusehen und diese mit benachbarten Dosen zu verbinden. Bei der Unterbringung mehrerer, insbesondere mehr als zwei Installationsgeräte in einer genormten Dose entstehen Schwierigkeiten, da die Abmessungen der üblichen Installationsgeräte durch die Sicherheitsabstände der spannungsführenden Teile und die zur Betätigung notwendigen Abstände zwischen den einzelnen Betätigungshebeln nicht beliebig verkleinert werden können.
